Okay so my lovely shithead cat urinated on the corner of a homemade quilt (made by my husband's grandmother!!!) in our guest bedroom. I soaked that corner in white vinegar, a splash of soap, and water - which has worked to get the odor out in other things. Well, the dye on the quilt bled EVERYWHERE! It's a dark red, tan, blue, and green. The green and red bled.

What will remove the bleed? And how do I wash the quilt now? Help, please!

I use Murphy's oil soap to remove stains on clothes. It works on hard to remove stains so maybe it's worth a try? You can also bring it to a dry cleaner to have it cleaned.

@ilovemarfa Any idea how to prevent the rest from bleeding when I wash the whole thing?

@kelly422‌ I have no idea. Is the quilt machine washable? I usually bring my quilts to the dry cleaners to be cleaned because they aren't machine washable. Good luck!
