What's currently going on with LO that you want to brag about--from new milestones he/she hit recently to cute little quirks that you love about him/her?
For a while, LO had a huge aversion to feeding himself slimy foods. First, he would only take them pureed and then only from a fork. Starting this past weekend, he finally decided slimy things are cool and shovels all the foods into his mouth now.
Now we just need to get him to do better with the sippy cup, and he will be all ready for the toddler room when he hits his birthday!
That's awesome @BC&LM! We are still struggling with both of those issues (won't touch anything cold/wet, and won't take a sippy cup), so I'm glad to hear you guys are moving past those! Hurray!
We still need to work a lot on the sippy. He will drink an ounce or two out of it and then decide it's too much work and whine. And if we take the stopper out so that he gets a stronger flow, he waves it all around so that the milk spills on him and he giggles.
B gets his blanket from his crib -he slides it thru the bars-and walks around the house with it over the shoulder. Yesterday he sat down next to me with his blanket and put it over his head initiating a game of peekaboo.
He started making a fish face which became a kiss face -he now kisses the air and we go back and forth kissing.
Too cute with the peek-a-boo initiating! I can't wait until LO does that. Right now, if I start playing it, he will often take his turn and pull the blanket up to cover his eyes, but he won't start the game himself.
Grayson will initiate peek a boo. He's also becoming a champ at walking. And he has such a deep belly laugh that it just melts my heart everytime he laughs. Sometimes I tickle him just to hear his laugh!! He is also pointing at things now and clapping. He will dance too if he hears music.
This kid is always surprising me. He'll start clapping if I ask him if he's like to do Patty Cake and he's just started initiating peek-a-boo, sometimes I'll even catch him by the bunny cage playing peek-a-boo with them which cracks me up! I love when he's being silly, he'll blow raspberries on my arm because he know's it'll make me laugh. He's just started looking at me before he does stuff, especially stuff he know's I don't want him to do, such a little stinker. He's also just started using Mama and Dada correctly! Not all the time but sometimes.
My LO has mastered climbing up the stairs. His little butt is just too cute as he's scaling the full length of the staircase (no help needed). Now we haven't quite figured out what to do once he gets all the way up though
We have a super old chihuahua that sleeps under a blanket on the couch all day, every day and now everytime he goes and jumps on the couch Kenna will go over and try to cover him up. It's freaking adorable. She's also been covering her stuffed animals with her blanky

She's been fully walking before she turned 11 months. She waves hi and bye, and waves at the appropriate time. She also says hi, cat and dad, and pretty much uses those appropriately. She understands a lot of words, but cant say them. For instance, I'll ask her where her ball is, or dog, and she'll go look for it, pick it up, and bring it back to me. I think for her age she's pretty advanced.
Oh, a couple of the other posts reminded me--LO also started waving purposefully (hi/bye) and started pointing at stuff specifically rather than just pointing at nothing in particular.
I was just saying that Lucy had no social graces - no waving, no belly laughing, no clapping, etc. Well this weekend she did all three. She's also trying to say "hot". And then blow. (like I do on my coffee). So she goes "hhh" and her mouth makes the "ot" motion but no noise comes out. And then she blows. It's freaking adorable and I die of the cute.
Owen likes to be chased. He also is getting into paying peek a boo.
The other day I video recorded me chasing him around my ottoman, right before I stopped recording I captured Owen taking his first steps without holding on to anything!
He's also figured out how to give our animals pats instead of grabs, which they appreciate, I'm sure.
He's also initiated peek-a-boo. The cutest time he did this was last month when we had him in the cart in his carseat napping at Sam's club. He woke up, and started pulling the blanket over his head and giggling madly in anticipation of pulling it away again. It was way too cute.
LO's also getting more milk (open) cups at daycare, and I've started sitting at his little table with him for dinners instead of using the high chair.
He signed for milk (clearly) on Mother's Day I was so proud of him! And he will initiate peekaboo all the time, the curtains are his favourite! And he is now eating whatever we eat! For awhile I thought we would be doing purees forever!
Lately, LO has been trying to share his toys and food with me (well, with anybody nearby). He's also been holding up interesting toys to share his interest in them. He figured out how to stack his nesting cups and put puzzles pieces in. He also pointed for the first time this weekend (but since then has just been managing to make a peace sign).
It cracks me up when LO tries to feed us. He likes to tease us with it too; he will hold out the piece of food for us to eat, and then when we lean in to get it, he pulls it away and pops it in his own mouth! )
E finally started referring to ME as "mama" (commence heart melting). She's also learned 'ba' for ball and has finally learned to get up to sitting from her back (still working on laying down). She has started pulling to stand and cruising a little (still working on sitting down) and can point to body parts on request. So far she knows "tummy" "nose" "ear" and "mouth". Also points, claps, combs her hair, hands things to me, gives kisses, and plays peek-a-boo.
All of you moms with walkers are blowing my mind. I think E might walk by the time she's three.

See LO walks, but I think it would be way more awesome if he could point to his body parts! It's funny how all their different little skills develop at different times from baby to baby.
Granted it's with one of those little push walkers but Joseph is starting to walk! He can now cruise along the furniture! And he can sit himself back down when he pulls himself up! So no more of him just flopping over and banging his head on the floor!
B is walking. His record is probably about seven steps. He seems to walk best/farthest when he has his arms straight up over his head and thinks no one is looking.
He initiates peek-a-boo. He bounces up and down when I say "Dance, dance!!" He will also shake a toy if I say "shake, shake, shake."
He is starting to recognize words for things and will go get his car if I ask him where his car is.
Other than that, we don't have any purposeful use of words. No consistent, purposeful clapping or waving or anything. Hoping some of those start to happen in the near future.
LO has started saying "Uh oh" whenever something falls on the ground (cute now, annoying in a few months, I'm sure). Also, she's become very daring with letting go of things to stand on her own.
She finally waved bye-bye yesterday. I was wondering when that was going to happen.
It scares me to death, but she can climb the stairs.
Talking. Oh, the talking. When she's done nursing, it is, "All Done!", when she sees Mickey Mouse, "Hot Dog" (for the Hot Dog song her brother sings to Mickey) and "Hi (Dada/Mama)" .
A has been waving "bye-bye" and clapping for a few months now. She says nothing other than mama and dada, and absolutely does not use these with meaning. She definitely understands some things I say because I can give simple directions and she follows them (like: "Give the dolly a kiss." "Crawl to mama." "Clap your hands." etc), but she is not attempting to speak actual words. Everything she says sounds like "blah blah blah" to me.
She pulls up on furniture really well, but cannot cruise or walk.
So basically, I am shocked how many kids can fully walk and speak actual English words.

He's taken a few steps since then too.
