Okay, so I'm a teeny bit socially awkward. I mean, I'm friendly and people like me (I hope), but I'm just not super extroverted "I'm going to strike up a conversation with a stranger" kind of gal.
So, I work in a large office (about 150-200 people) made up of lots of different divisions (we're government and contractors). One of the divisions just took on an intern and she just happens to be sitting one door down and across the hallway from me and I found out (through their admin) she is also having twins (due one month before me in October).
Do I go over and introduce myself just because we're both having twins? I don't want to automatically assume she wants to talk to me because I'm having twins but then I don't want her to think I'm rude and don't want to say hi.
I mean, how would that even go?
Me: Hi, I hear you're having twins! I'm having twins too.
Her: OMG WE ARE LIKE BFFS FOREVER NOW HU? Uhh, hi!
Me: Ok. Well, bye. See ya in the bathroom!
I'm so overthinking this. Ugh. I HATE being socially awkward.

A good conversation starter could be asking if her what kinds of crazy comments and questions she's gotten so far. I enjoy sharing these with twin moms and love hearing theirs as well. You can also look on the thread on this board for some fun ones to share.
