Shower fainting/vomiting!

Hello everyone, I haven't introduced myself yet, but I've been lurking for a while and commenting here and there. I've been having this crazy issue lately and I am just curious if anyone else is having the same problem. I dread taking a shower every. single. day! Whether is a tepid shower or a cold shower, after about 20 minutes in the bathroom I feel like I'm going to faint or vomit. I have to get out of the shower soaking wet and sit on the floor while fanning myself to keep from doing either. It's becoming a real problem. I'm afraid I'm actually going to pass out and end up hurting myself. And it would be extremely embarrassing because my husband and I are living with his parents while trying to find our own place. I've thought maybe it was the shower being too hot, so I started taking cooler showers but it only seems to help a little. I also thought the heat build up in the bathroom may contribute, but I can't leave the door open for obvious reasons. Is anyone else having this problem or maybe have an idea of what could be causing it?

Could you shorten your shower time? For example, only wash your hair every other day or shave your legs (if you do that in the shower) every other day so you can get in and get out quickly? Or if you get dressed in the bathroom or do your make-up, could you start doing that in your room where it wouldn't be as warm?

i've fainted after a shower before (not pregnant). It's scary!

I'd suggest trying to make your showers faster and crack the door open while you're in there and maybe just close it when you get out? Is there a fan or a window you can open?

I get like this sometimes. Often feeling faint in pregnancy is due to not enough water. Maybe try drinking more water in the hour or two before your shower and see if that helps. And definitely make sure the water is on the tepid side. It generally isnt anything to worry about. I get like that every few weeks during pregnancy.

I have this issue too. I've cooled my showers down a bit (I used to take HOT) showers. Also I leave the door or even just the shower curtain cracked so I can get a little more fresh air.

This has happened to me many times even before pregnancy. Seems to be either a blood sugar or low blood pressure. I will be in the middle of my shower and start blacking out then i need to do a downward dog to get blood to my head. Its so annoying, i have puked while trying to recover as well. I know if i eat breakfast before i shower it definitly helps.

I hate getting dressed in a hot, steamy bathroom. Maybe get a bathrobe so you can at least go to your bedroom and cool down before getting dressed. And not flash anyone in the process?

My OB said my blood pressure was good and the baby looked great, so hopefully the fainting/vomiting showers have run their course and I don't need to worry about it anymore. It will be nice to take hot showers again, cold water gives me razor burn! LOL

Glad everything is good and you're no longer feeling icky when you shower!

But I have no choice whether to get dressed in the bathroom or not, because the bathroom is right off of the living room and my in-laws are always, always home and I'm way to shy to wander out in my towel! I wish there was a window in there, but it is a rather small bathroom. It has one of those exhaust fans, but it doesn't really help much. And I'm too afraid to crack the door, just because you can see into the bathroom from the living room and my father-in-law never leaves his chair in front of the TV.
