Workout

It's Tuesday.  2 days in, 2 good workouts down, 1 day of pretty spot on eating behind me.  This morning I did a 25 minute Fit in 40 lower body routine (100 weighted lunges is no joke!) and then did 5 minutes of lower body on sworkit and 5 minutes of stretching.  I was pretty wiped after, but then I walked into work and saw a kid hitting  heavy bag and was wishing I was off so I could go to the gym.  I would love to work out with a trainer.  I'm thinking maybe this summer I'll try to train on the days I put DS in daycare.

So, somebody talk to me about macros.  What is this?  I mean, I have goal ranges for calories, fat, carbs, protein, sugar, yada yada, but I feel like I have been doing this for a while and only recently hear the term "macros". 

Also, how is everyone doing with their fitness goals this week?

  • I'm off to a rough start this week. I completed week 1 of C25K on Sunday so that was good. Yesterday I was supposed to do upper body strength training, but I overslept then didn't have time in the evening. I figured I would just get up early this  morning to do it, then start C25K week 2 this evening, but of course I overslept again! I need to get it together. I put meatballs in the crock pot this morning so I won't have to worry about dinner tonight and I'm getting outside to run dammit.

  • I took DS and the dog for a walk yesterday. I'd really like to get my ass back in gear with my T25 workouts again (with modifications of course), bc I love it!

  • For C25K it says to do the plan 3 days a week. I guess I could do another exercise on the off days but would it be bad if I just continued doing it as many days a week that I can even if it ends up being more than 3 days?

    Of course you can run the extra days if you'd like, but I think you"d get better results from incorporating some strength training into your week.  If I remember correctly you are just starting out?  Try downloading that sworkit app.  Everything is bodyweight so you don't need any equipment and if you don't know what you are doing there are video clips to demonstrate.

  • Thanks WCIBN.  I thought that's all it was, but wasn't sure if I was missing something.  I feel like I have been around gyms and trainers for a long time, and only recently have really heard this term.

  • I did week 5 day 1 of C25k yesterday morning. I was so hot, sweaty, and tired by the time I got home that I skipped my arm and core workout I usually do after. I'll hopefully do that tonight. We had a cold front come in yesterday so I'm excited to run tomorrow morning. By the end of this week, I should run for 20 minutes. That seems totally impossible right now!

    I ate all the food this weekend but back in track with weekly stuff.

  • just started week 3 of T25. Feeling good but had a wimpy work out today because I woke up late, kids were already up and trying to "help" with my work out. Have been feeling ok. Feel good from work outs but have been eating like crap, so it sorta balances out. My cousin saw a picture of me and said I look really good/asked what I've been doing. That made me feel good and gave me a bit of motivation to keep it up.
  • My stomach is growling, it is only 11:00, and I only have a salad and a pear to last until 5:30.  I forgot I am staying late for a class, and didn't pack an extra snack.

  • AW: The director at E's daycare told me this morning that she could tell I'd lost weight and that I look great. So my scale isn't lying to me after all! Cuz I was kinda convinced that it was.
    Great job @peanutbutterfox!  I noticed your total this morning on MFP and you are doing great!

  • I always think of the money I spend on other things, and decide that is ANYTHING is worth it, my health and happiness are.

  • I'm back on the wagon but Mothers Day really threw me for a loop. I ate my weight in cake, corned beef and cookies. Didn't help that I have all the leftovers still..

    I just did a 4 mile walk outside before the rain came and am feeling good about the remainder of the week. I weigh at WW on Friday mornings and I'm hoping to stay the same this week with 2 bad days of eating...

  • Last night I started day 1 week 1 of T25 yet again. I just can't seem to stick with a program anymore. DH has said that he wants to do it with me, but we shall see. Having him down stairs doing the program with me motivates me more than he knows, so I hope he does do it with me. I have been doing really well eating lately as well. I joined a food coop, so I have been trying new veggies, and healthier ways to cook them. In fact, I made raddish fries last night, and they where amazing!

  • So I never did get around to working out yesterday, and once again, overslept this morning. I'm leaving work early to take M to an appointment, so I'm hoping I can get some jogging in while she's there, but I'll have the baby with me which means pushing the stupid (non jogging) stroller which sucks. Plus it might rain.

  • I'm halfway through week 5 of C25K and starting to like it! Yesterday I ran at 6 mph for 8 min and felt great :)

    @BluepointToasted‌ like WCIBN said, macros is just short for macronutrients - carb, fat, pro. What kind of %s are you aiming for? I feel like "macros" is going to become a new buzzword, like "omegas".

  • Nice workout @scoutkate!  Yeah, we are trying to check in a few times a week. 

    I did not get up this morning because DS was up three times last night and I just could not do it.  Will do better tomorrow.  DH is on vacation from the fire department right now, and while I love that he is not working overnights, he definitley keeps me up way later than when I go to bed when he is not around!

  • I did the T25 total body circuit last night, and my entire body is sore today. Burpee's are not my friend, and I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns.

    Question- Has anyone else noticed an increase in appetite since losing weight? I have lost nearly 3 Ibs this week,  and it seems like iam hungry all the time. I'm talking like pre AF hungry, wonna eat everything in sight hungry. Per myfitnesspal, I eat around 1300 calories a day, most of it is high fiber food, so I don't know whats going on.

    I still didn't run yesterday, but I did get up and do 20 minutes of core strength on Sworkit this morning! Fingers crossed I can get out and run this evening.

  • I ran 20 minutes this morning! I've never ran that long in my life. I made week 5 of C25k my bitch.

    (Which is good since I ate half a dozen cookies yesterday - bless/damn H for ordering me a delivery on chocolate chip cookie day.)

    Now, I would like to nap all day.

  • I suck this week. Thunderstorms prevented C25K last night, and I was in a pissy mood so I didn't work out at all. I actually woke up early this morning, with plenty of time to workout, but didn't. And I just had McDonald's for breakfast. I'm gonna turn this shit around this weekend, I swear.

  • I missed my workout this morning too :(

    DS work up at 5:15, and normally I would put him back to bed, but he was sent home with a slight fever yesterday so I wanted to make sure he was okay to send to daycare.  My sinuses are out of control this morning too.  At least I am telling myself it is sinuses becasue I don't want to actually be sick.

  • I'm taking today off. Yesterday I did lower body strength training and now I'm having trouble walking.
