One & Done: Only child

DD *says* she wants a baby, but...

DD loves to tell me that we should have a baby.  That she'd help with everything she can help with (even putting the baby to sleep).  And she doesn't want a puppy instead.

But then she goes and does things like this tonight:

I get dinner on the table, which DH has helped to set.  She sees a cup of water on the table at her plate and gets upset because she doesn't want water.  I tell her that's fine, she doesn't have to drink it  She starts to push it out of the way and I caution her not to shove it across the table, but I only get to "DD! Don't push your water..." before she breaks down into big tears, face fallen, and runs away to hide in the bedroom.  She tells me firmly to go away and now she won't even eat dinner.  Approximately 5 minutes later, I get from her that she's upset because she didn't want water.  And that she's upset because daddy didn't get her what she wanted, which was orange juice.  I asked her if she told daddy she wanted orange juice, and she said no.  Commence further crying/bawling and repeating that now she won't eat dinner.  We try to convince her to move the water carefully away from her plate, but she cries harder  Another 5 minutes later, after she's run into her room, and I get out of her that she doesn't even want to see the water.  I try to convince her to move the cup somewhere she couldn't see it, but apparently, she could see it everywhere if she looked in that place, so, she's not going to eat dinner.  Finally, I hide the cup in the sink, and she makes her way to the table.  She eats a fairly normal-small dinner.  Then she runs around, outside after dinner, buzzing like a bee, for 15 minutes, and doesn't want to stop buzzing like a bee to wash the ridiculous amount of paint she has smeared on her body off or get her teeth brushed.

In the three hours that ended the day, I was wiped out!

She keeps doing this, there's no way she's getting a baby! :P
