DD1 hated milk from sippy cups. She would drink water out of them just fine, but would gag if we put milk in there. IDK. We had the worst time weaning her off of bottles because of it. I haven't started putting milk in DD2's sippies yet. I'm hoping it won't be as hard as it was the first time. But PP's advice is good - ditch the bottles. Just get rid of them completely.
Just keep trying I tried 10 different cups but all if a sudden she just got it out of nowhere ..we are off afternoon bottle still doing morning and night (only 1 week in)
We are having the hardest time with this right now. My DD refuses to drink milk (elecare) from a sippy (straw or regular) and she has a dairy allergy so she isn't getting any calcium from anywhere else really besides a small supplement. We still do a few bottles but are going to ditch them before she turned 18 months. I realize it should be closer to 12-15 months but our pedi has ok'd them until 18 months because she has so many food allergies.

I got rid of the bottles cold turkey right away and have tried so many different sippy cups, since I had to add milk in them. I started sippy cups when she was 6 months though with only water. There are some she likes and honestly it seems to be which mood she's in lol. She is good at drinking plenty of water, and I give her a milk at each meal. Even though she doesn't drink it all or barely any, I try to make sure she gets yogurt and cheese daily. I am having the same issue. She seems to like the straw sippy cups a lot more, but I may replace with an easier one to sip from and not care about the whole 'no spill" situation. Thanks for asking this question!
We stopped giving DD milk in bottles at 18 months. She didn't want milk in any sippy cups that she would drink water or juice in. Finally after awhile we kept asking her if she would want milk in the same sippy cup that she gets served at daycare and she wasn't too fond of the idea but would take small sips of the milk here and there from her sippy cup and now before bed she will ask for milk in a cup with some crackers and she drinks more of the milk now but that's the only time she will drink it.
Might just be a transition thing. I wouldn't think too much of it. If you constantly offer the milk in a sippy cup he may catch on and want it sooner or later.
My nephew hated it too. My sister found a cup by Nuk that has a lid made out of the same stuff bottle nipples are made out of. He drank from it fine and is now drinking from normal sippy cups too.
Re: XP: Weaning off bottles but refusing to drink milk from sippy cups
I had something long typed out but long story short....
We're weaning off bottles and I can't get DS to take milk from sippy cups or regular cups. Advice?
