I'd count that as an "etc." ;-)

As of two or three weeks ago, all finger foods other than stuff adults eat on a spoon like yogurt and applesauce.  I don't trust him with the spoon yet, though; all the food would end up in his hair and eyes because there is no way he had those motor skills yet.  Plus it's super fun to smear our food in our hair apparently ;-)
  • He starts every meal with finger foods, but since he's been teething so bad lately (top 4 at once) I will often give him a cold pouch from the fridge if it doesn't seem like he's eaten much. I did all homemade purées before he started finger foods, it seems so funny to now be buying pouches. I also feel good about them because there are lots of ingredients in them that I can't seem to get LO to eat on his own (like broccoli).

Dh thinks we should make an all natural line of hair mousse  -B has blueberry mousse and banana mousse and mac and cheese mousse....

    :)) Lol!
  • Mostly finger foods, but I like the pouches for when we are in a hurry or on the go.

  • N loves finger foods, so we've made the transition.  I feel like I cut  her finger foods smaller than she needs though - I'm so paranoid - I feel like I'm going to be cutting things in tiny pieces forever!

LO loves finger foods, but we still give her a lot of homemade purees in pouches, too.  She likes them, and it's a much quicker and tidier way for her to self-feed.  I do a batch every weekend so that we have something ready-made for quick lunches, nights when dinner is too spicy, eating out, etc.  She's never been down with being spoon fed, so it's the only way she'll eat yogurt and applesauce (aside from the aforementioned use of these foods as hair products).
  • Breakfast and Lunch are almost always finger food I send with him to Daycare. Dinner starts as finger food and then usually ends with a pouch, I like the variety it gives him and bulks him up for bedtime! Usually one with a grain

DD is still mostly eating purees.  She'll eat some finger foods but not many.  Considering how hangry she got as a little baby, I'm surprised she hates food so much.

All of this. What a surprise ;). @Sympkin‌ does your girl also only like her food cut into small pieces? We used to give DD bigger pieces to grab, but since perfecting her pincer grip she refuses anything that isn't Cheerios sized.

  • I try to force a spoonful of veggies in her mouth between her finger foods. Sometimes it works and sometimes she turns her head and clamps her mouth closed or screams when I try to spoon feed her purees. It's so frustrating.

  • DD was eating more finger foods than purees until she started cutting her top two teeth. Now, the only finger foods she will eat is string cheese, so I have been making pouches for her again. Hopefully she will be back to mostly finger foods when she is in less pain.
