Stuck in reverse

Any other LOs going any direction except forward.  My LO likes to go backwards and can even negotiate turns going backwards.  The funny thing is she gets upset when she gets further away from an object she was trying to get.  Maybe one of these days she will learn forward.  She is actually doing exactly what her older sister did.  DD1 always went backwards and then just one day it dawned on her and she started crawling forward.

Anyone else's LO have a bad sense of direction?

Re: Stuck in reverse

  • She mostly rocks back and forth, or rolls around. Sometimes she goes back a teensy bit, and she has gone forward a few times, but it's not consistent.
  • My DD goes around in circles on her belly like a clock! Tehe :D

So cute! She's just started to move backwards. It's not entirely intentional. She moves backwards then looks around like "what the heck is going on here???"

I love this stage of babyhood.

  • She's more of a roller but whe she Scott's it's all backward. She gets stuck under furniture all the time.

  • Yes.  She goes side to side and backwards really well.  No forward movement.  She'll back all the way up to a wall at daycare and then cry when she can't go any further.  So they pick her up, put her in the middle of the room, and it starts all over.  She's the only one not crawling in her room.

  • For awhile, every time we would hold LO's hands he would step one step forward, 2 steps back.  Now, he has learned to just go forward.

DS turns in circles on his belly, too. So funny to watch! He will also rock side to side and moves forward little by little doing that. And he'll push off with his hands and feet and either move forward or backwards, usually backwards. We are definitely nowhere near crawling yet! Or sitting for that matter LOL

  • She just figured out forward today. It's a mix of army crawl and getting on all fours and kind of belly flopping forward. Before she was a pro at going backwards. She'd scoot out a room and down the hall.

I have a picture of DD1 half under a couch because she scooted herself backwards far enough to get under it.
  • Yep my little one was a roller, the went in reverse and in circles, now she army crawls!
