For ages I was limiting liquids at night, but I was still making 6+ trips to the bathroom every night only to pee a teaspoon at a time.
So I finally decided a couple of weeks ago to try the opposite and superhydrate in the evening, hoping that maybe I could flush out all the excess fluids before I go to sleep. And holy cow, it actually works. I'm not getting up every half hour anymore!
I'm drinking more overall lately because I want to reduce swelling and fluid retention, but now I also drink at least half a gallon of water (and several cups of ice) between 6 pm and bedtime. I pee a TON while I'm still awake and right before I go to bed, but now I'm only getting up twice, sometimes 3x, in the middle of the night. And it's a lot of pee at once, actually emptying my bladder, not just a trickle that leaves me still feeling the urge when I lie back down.
A couple of evenings we've had plans that kept us out of the house and kept me from drinking quite as much, and I notice myself getting up more often and doing the annoying trickle thing. So I know it's not a coincidence.
Anybody else already figure this out? Man, I wish I'd realized it when I was pregnant with my first.

Lately it's only been twice a night as compared to 6 times if I drank water later.
