Omg, the whining

Anyone else's toddler a whiney jerk lately? Ha. I mean, I get it, and I kinda have to laugh because I know it's just a phase, but the past couple of days DD has been REALLY whiney. It's like this almost grunting sounds and it just grates on the ears. Everything's fine, except that she's not getting whatever it is that she wants for breakfast.

No real point to this, I'm just looking for commiseration so I don't jump off a cliff. ;-)

DS has been the most miserable little grump since last week. We think he's cutting molars and is also sick (when isn't he sick?) But yeah, DH and I were ready to put him in a box and ship him to grandmas this weekend.

Ugh, so sorry. Hope he feels better soon!

Now she's whining because the puzzle is too hard. Shoot me.

  • I've got whiney times TWO! ahhhhh.  They seem to amp each other up too, like they didn't know they were supposed to be pissed about something until the other got pissed about it.
  • Haha yes! Ds is a big whiner lately. Like for the past few months. Not a talker so everything is whine. He has a few "words" but not enough to really communicate. And to top it off we have a new baby so he has a little jealousy too.

  • @jessnicolodi‌ Yikes! No thanks. One is enough.

So sorry that everyone else is dealing with this, too, but glad I'm not alone!

DD is a screamer for what she wants.  She has gotten better because she is starting to talk and point more- but OMG she used to be so loud and demanding.  For a while there we just gave into all her demands and were like M'am yes M'am, but I realized I need to draw some lines because she is old enough- this started at about a year when she was more a baby.  So it took about 2-3 months to get better.

This is us exactly. It has slowly been getting a bit better, but we aren't there quite yet.

The frustrating part is she will be a screaming, whining mess for me. But, as soon as daddy gets home she is a completely different kid. I don't think dh believes me most days when I say she is miserable.

DD has been whining and screaming since she turned one. She has such attitude and I don't see it ending anytime soon.

I try to just not give in to whatever it is she wants, but it drives me crazy some days.

  • @teds1chic‌ Um, yeah...I've said phrases like that, too, lol. Usually I just try to ignore her but sometimes I'm just like "what NOW?!"

Guys, I need a vacation. My mom and I have talked about escaping to a cabin on some woodsy lake in Michigan for...ever, haha. With DD. Nice, girly vacay.

  • Well, the little squirt is certainly charming away our rough day with a billion hugs and kisses this evening, complete with repetitions of "Mama, Mama" and drooly hands. I'm melting. :-D

This is my life right now too! Apparently DS is only like that when I get home (says everyone else)...which makes me think that I'm the one giving into his demands. On the upside? At least he's stopped purposely hitting his head on things out of frustration. Sigh.

DS has days where he is so damn whiny. It is painful. He doesn't talk at all which makes it worse because he'll point toward something and if I pick up the wrong thing he flips out. I'm not a freaking mind reader kid!
This is me EXACTLY! DS still doesn't talk, but he's really good at pointing and signing. The problem is he only really uses one sign, so I have to go through a litany of food/drink options before we hit on the right one.

This is happening at our house as well. I'm trying to ignore or soothe or redirect. I ignore when she's safe but angry, so she doesn't see me laugh or roll my eyes. Yesterday I definitely said, Bridget, honestly, it cannot be that bad!!!
