Oddly yes. I never thought to ask anyone of they can hear it. It's like if he kicks hard enough I can hear from inside the slap of his foot on my ute. Lol. Is that what you mean? It's very subtle though. Almost like the click from the top of a snapple cap under some blankets. Haha.
I agree with a PP. My hips and tailbone will pop while I walk sometimes because of the added pressure from baby. My ob actually told me yesterday that it's completely normal because I asked her about it.
I hear it too, everyone thinks I'm crazy when I ask if they heard a pop. I read it could be baby's joints just popping, liquid or just muscles. Its nothing to worry about, I just take it as a sign baby is about to move around.
@CDK211 thanks! Feels good to know I'm not alone. Is your daughter ok now with the hip click? I have read that dysplasia can be common for breech babies. Think I should be worried?
I heard the popping with my first pregnancy and freaked a little lol. Sounds kind of like a joint popping? Like if you crack a knuckle? I looked it up and there were several different theories such as sacs rubbing together, splashing, hitting uterine wall etc... but none were cause for concern and it seemed pretty common. This baby is about twice as active as my first and a giant and I hear it all the time this pregnancy. I don't worry about it. If you are truly concerned though always ask your doc! If I can remember I will ask at my apt. today.
I asked my midwife today! I remembered! She said she never experienced it with any of her pregnancies but has had a lot of women ask about it. She said she thinks it's most likely your ligaments popping and stretching when baby has large movements. I told her of the baby's joint popping theory and she felt that was very unlikely the cause of the sound (I agree with her, that doesn't seem likely to me that their little joints are popping that loud). Overall though, she said no one really knows what it is.
I just heard this over the weekend and it freaked me out!! I thought I twisted weird and made the baby's bones pop lol. I've heard it few more times since when he makes bigger movements. Glad I'm not the only one! Thanks OP for posting!!! :-)
Yes! I hear a popping/snapping sound almost daily and felt crazy for awhile until my hubby heard it too! Similarly to others I've asked about it and have gotten mixed responses but nothing to be concerned about!
