  • Weekly appointment this afternoon.  Curious as to whether or not I'll get a cervix check.  I can't remember when they started last time around.  I kind of hope that I do just because I'm dying to know if these constant contractions are actually doing anything productive!

  • I am currently in the waiting room for an IV iron infusion, in hopes of avoiding a blood transfusion after delivery. I am sure it will be uneventful and go smoothly, but I am a teeny bit nervous even so. @emilyh107 are you also having an iron infusion today?
  • Had ultrasound to check his kidneys and ob check, all done in 20 minutes, this baby is boring (which is such a good thing!) I feel like I need to ask more questions or something and get my monies worth but I really don't have any. His head is measuring two weeks ahead, good thing we are having a c/s!
  • weekly OB appointment, cervix check, possible growth us, and GBS swab
  • Ultrasound this afternoon to see how big little miss is measuring and bloodwork to check iron levels. Good luck today ladies

Just back from my appointment. I tested positive for Group B Strep. My midwife says it's common and I'll just need antibiotics when I go
into labor. Good luck to the rest of you.

  • @emilyh107 i am having my first one today, then another Thursday. Then they will recheck levels. If they look better I will continue twice weekly until delivery (due June 9th). If they haven't gone up enough, I will have a blood transfusion next week, then resume iron infusions. Sounded kinda scary, but after meeting with the dr I feel much better about it all!

I have a check up this morning, it will probably be as uneventful as usual.
I am NOT complaining about that!

ETA: I'm dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced. It's good to know all those irregular contractions are doing something!

  • I have an 11 o'clock appt today to be evaluated for pre-eclampsia. Had an episode last night where I saw crazy flashing lights for about an hour. I've also had extra swelling lately and in the last 5 days I've gained 4 lbs. apparently these are all signs? I have really low blood pressure normally so I have doubts that I have pre-e. Guess we will find out!?
  • U/S, NST and doctor appointment today starting at 10:15 PST. The last test he was looking great and not stressed, so here's to hoping that stays the same. I am going with a list of questions so I can be prepared if this doctor is like the last. I'm nervous but excited. I've been having contractions the last few days so I am really interested to see if there has been any changes.

  • Repeat NST and Ultrasound today as well as follow up for possible placenta detachment. Didn't see anything of it last week, but he said that the feeling I've been having (i.e. burning and stinging) is symptomatic of it, plus its centered around where the placenta attaches so he wants to check again with a different Ultrasound tech to be sure. (there was a sub tech last week)

Don't know if they will do the Strep B test today or if I will get a cervical check. This is technically my 36 week appointment because the other dates he had in this week window are double and triple booked. He's a busy man!

    GOOD LUCK LADIES!

  • Routine weekly apt today.   Tested neg for GBS last week yay and I have declined all cervical checks so I feel I am the minority.  :)

The Dr. ask me how big my first was and I told her 6 lb 11oz.   She then laughed out loud and said oh honey we are definately past that point.   My dd was born at 41 weeks and I am clearly not that far so I get a growth u/s next week to check as the Dr. so elequently stated "this baby doesn't have shoulders like a linebacker"   Thanks doc feeling all warm and fuzzy.

I am good though and really thankful for the growth scan to see the little baby boy again.

  • Appointment tonight at 5:30EST. He's doing something own there today, not sure if it's the strep or a cervical check because I forgot to ask. I've got a list of new symptoms I need to remember to mention to him and hopefully all comes back okay.

Regular old appointment today at 33 weeks.  Back in two weeks for the GBS test and then again at 37 weeks where they will start cervical checks.  I would decline the checks (I don't think they are super helpful) but I am an absolute crazy person about data, so I am doing it more out of curiously than anything else.

They also offered me the chance to do a growth a scan at 36 weeks which I may take advantage of….giant heads run in my husbands family so we are curious to see if he has a "peanut head" or "watermelon head".

@marciP83 and @emilyh107  I give a lot of iron infusions where I work and they are really well tolerated.  Still, it is always weird to see that see that dark fluid going in…even takes us nurses aback a little bit!

  • Had a great appointment! Baby was napping during the ultrasound so we had to do a lot to get him to move. My fluid is still high but came down a bit. The doctor I saw today was so much better than last week. He explained everything. He was upset that the last doc didn't send me for a 3 hr glucose test because my reading was slightly elevated but not diagnostic. He thinks it will come back negative since I had a perfect test earlier. So that's a relief. Absolutely no change in my cervix. Still measuring long and closed. So baby will be staying put for the next 4 weeks. Baby looks perfect!

  • My appointment was sort've a nightmare. Tech doing the ultrasound was super chatty then wen radio silent. They moved me to the next room for my NST and left me alone for forever before starting the test. Once started, the head nurse comes and and says there is a "small problem." She says I will need to see a MFM because the cord could be malfunctioning. I figured she meant she'd give me the info to make the appointment but she then tells me she has already made it and all I have time to do is eat. So then I have to rush to find childcare because the MFM doesn't allow kids (understandable.) She started off saying it oculd be "nothing" but then mentions hospitalization and starts in about how "34 weeks is plenty cooked to deliver." Um, no thanks, I am not even full term. Thankfully it was my DH's day off so he was able to come with me.

Turns out the tech was totally wrong and the cord is fine (thank God!)  She is my least favorite tech, anyway, but now I will still probably have her doing my weekly ultrasounds so I guess I wil just grin and bear it. UGH!
