Tell me I'm not the only one buying used baby stuff!!!

Not car seats or cribs, I won't go there, but pretty much everything else? Heck to the yes! We sold quite a bit of DS's gear because baby stuff is bulky, and we moved cross country last year and didn't want to haul it.

So far I'm proud to say I have found some great deals on the local resale pages:

FP My little lamb swing (same model we used for DS) - $30

Super jealous about your Bob find!! I haven't bought much yet but found some great deals on used baby items with dd. I have been scouting Craig's list and consignment stores for an ergo. No luck yet but I still have a few months.

Most of baby girls things are used. I got amazing deals on them. Her crib, mattress and car seat were all bought new but on sale. Even most of her wardrobe came from my niece!

I am garage sale crazy and will continue to be throughout my children's lives! And I love a good resale shop. I am not going to buy anything new until my showers are over and I see what I need.

I just found a chicco key fit 30 travel system (car seat, stroller, 2 bases) for $75. Coming from a couple who lives close to us and has other baby stuff that we are buying (fisher price play mat). Travel system is in excellent condition, and car seats/bases still good for another few years, we checked it out already. Would you buy? Currently we have a travel system being shipped, $300 and change without the extra base (so add another $85). Not sure if we should return the new one once we get it, or keep it and not risk the used.

I've gotten all the baby clothes so far used (can't find the boxes with my old baby girl stuff). I've picked up a changing table/dresser for free, and all its cost was the paint and knobs. But I'm thinking I'll bed a contoured pad rather than the one I've got (out of my diaper bag) because ds hates it.

Not new for this baby, but I got my swing, bassinet, bounce seat, bumbo, and cart cover all second hand. Also bought my crib second hand, in like new condition (and meets all current safety measures).

We are getting pretty much everything but the crib and changing table/dresser used, but mostly from our sisters and a couple of friends. A coworker just stopped using her city mini with her 3 year old and passed it to us, my sister is giving us a britax marathon with 2 years to go on the expiration date, and DH's sis is giving us a graco infant car seat she got last year for her 3rd and planned final baby, who should be done with it in July. We got an old but nice kelty jogging stroller on Craigslist for $50, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a bob revolution in our price range used.

I haven't but anything use yet but ohh I will believe me I love garage sales and I'm waiting for an annual on the best neighborhood on my area. So far we had got toys some clothes the crib mattress from some friends. And we will use a stroller and cradle for another friend. We had only buy the crib and that's it. Also what so you think about buying use crib bedding?

I'm buying basically all his clothes used. I also bought a double stroller, a RS, and a wrap used. I still have all my gear from DD so no need for much more than that.

I found some on a Facebook local moms group and got a little lamb swing, bouncy seat and glider for $70! They threw in a brand new diaper genie with bags (we never had one but what the heck!) I am super jealous of your double bob we have a single that I love

I had someone from my church have a yardsale recently. Before she had it she let me come and pick out what I wanted. I got so many clothes it was unreal and some still had tags on them, a bobby pillow, a travel bassinet that looked brand spanking new (she said it was used maybe 2 times), and some bottle cleaners that were never opened for $40. She also let me get maternity stuff free.

This weekend we picked up 30 used books for baby's library for $13. We got great board books including Disney Titles, Hello Kitty, and Star Wars in excellent condition! Hoping to check out some of the local consignment shops soon.

I've gotten some clothes that are in near-new or new condition at a consignment sale, a garage sale, and on eBay. But since this is our first baby, I want to handpick the big items and buy them new. I figure they will get use for at least one and probably two more babies, so buying exactly what I want new is no big deal.

Yep! The covers all unzip so you can wash those and the inside (of the kind I got). If I couldn't, I wouldn't have bought it used. But as soon as I saw that I could, I was all over it!

All this kiddo's going to get new will be the car seat (because I refuse to get someone else's used for safety reasons) and some little stuff.

My bestie's given us all the stuff her son used, and he's under 5. So far we've scored a bassinet, crib/mattress, changing table, swing, stroller, tummy time mat, safety gate, bath tub and lots of other little things.

Up next, we're going to see what we can score for cloth diapers; and my mom's going to make me some CDs too. Gotta get that butt covered!!

I wouldn't, but I'm very particular about car seats / safety gear. If you do, make sure it hasn't been checked during air travel (gate checked or regularly checked), the straps haven't been submerged, it hasn't been in any accidents, and hasn't been dropped from a tall surface. Rule of thumb is if you wouldn't trust your child's life to the seller then don't buy a safety item from them.

ETA: you can buy a new Graco Snugride 30 for $119 and their extra bases are $50 each.

Yes pretty much everything we've bought used besides one pack and play we got a deal on and of course a travel system but even a toddler carseat and an infant one we have good trusted friends who given us one. I can't believe how generous everyone has been haha I timed it right everyone wanted to get rid of their baby gear

Has anyone heard of the store chain called "kid to kid"? One of my coworkers mentioned it as something she used frequently back in her hometown in Kentucky and I am pretty pumped that I found one in my area. CL has been such a bust--it would be nice to get things at a decent price without feeling like I will be axe murdered.
