PnP bassinet weight limit

The weight limit is 15 pounds and DD weighs almost 16 pounds. It still feels sturdy enough and she's nowhere near being able to pull up to throw herself overboard.

I want keep using it because it's easier to pull her from the raised bassinet than to reach all the way to the bottom in the MOTN (also my H has a bad back).

Would you keep using it?

I was all excited to use the pnp as a transition out if the rnp so I set it all up with the higher "bassinet" setting, then read the weight limit. DS is 16+ lbs so I decided to remove it. I'm just too paranoid that it would break and he will fall in the middle of the night so for me, personally, no I wouldn't use it.

  • I would use it.  I'm sure that stuff is built with a safety factor that is fairly high (like 3-4 at least) since it is a baby item.  Even if it was only built with a safety factor of 2 that would mean the bassinet setting held 30 lbs before failing the testing.

  • I've got the bottom full of blankets, so I'll probably keep using it (DD is only 14lbs right now). If it were to break, it wouldn't really fall because of all the blankets.

@CanadianGamerMom‌ the blanket idea is awesome. we have a closet full of blankets and throws...

I have a bad back, LO weighs 16 lbs, and I'm still using the top part.
