maternity leave ... intended to get things done but instead too lazy and aggrivated to do it!

mom and I went shopping today and I got aggrivated at EVERYTHING . people in the store in my way just made me furious actually everything did lol I was too tired to walk around and whenever I passed a mirror I ran by it so resist the urge to look at the women with a massive stomach and blown up legs. tried to clean the house but wanted to take a nap after 5 minutes . so much for maternity leave as a way to " get ready" I don't wanna do a dang thing! gaaaaah it finally hit me I'm gonna have a baby in 12 days. uh oh

  • I've been having this issue too, though I'm not on leave yet. I always start my days off with plans to get x, y, z done and the majority of the day ends up being spent on the couch fighting to stay awake. I keep telling myself that once leave starts, it'll be better because I know I'll have all the time without worrying about being called in to work. Pretty sure it's not going to happen that way, though!

  • I would very much have to agree. I feel like I am just this crabby blimp who can't get anything done. Kind if glad I'm crabby at home instead of at work though.

I'm not on maternity leave, but I am a mess. I have zero motivation. I am always angry and weepy. I'm not looking forward to three + more weeks of work.

I can totally feel the aggravation part!  My 3 yo son and MH are always getting on my nerves.  They're not doing anything that would otherwise be annoying me, but lately little actions and noises are driving up the freaking wall!

  • Been on a week of vacation and nothing got done. No book shelves in DS's bedroom, no shade up in our master bath, no chair moved in our bedroom. Nothing.

  • I can relate!  My first week of maternity leave that was meant to "get things done" was so unsuccessful.  But, luckily I caught up a bit last week.  But like you said, you're having a baby in 12 days!!!  So TRY not to stress about to-do lists and instead put your feet up!
  • I hear ya I had all these plans for my maternity leave and all I want to do is hang out on the couch and watch Netflix. I don't want to do anything but than again I'm pretty much set for baby to come.
  • Today is my first day of leave, I have plans to clean my car today.. We'll see if this gets done. My EDD is on Wednesday and it looks like I'll be going later so I'll have time to clean more stuff around the house. And again we'll see if I have the motivation to do it. I'm gonna guess I don't.
  • My baby will be here THIS Wed (or I guess it could come before) and I am sitting here just eyeing the 8 loads of laundry I have. :|
Our laundry room is in the basement....so that's 4 flights of stairs for a round-trip. Not. Feeling. It.

I made myself a to do list on my first day of leave that I thought would take one or two days. So far I've been on leave for two weeks and I am still working on that same list. Today I haven't even attempted to look at my list I'm just lazing outside with a book and bummed that the morning went by so fast. Oh well maybe I will be productive tomorrow while DS is at school.

  • Last week I was super productive. Installed the car seat, put hospital bags in the trunk, cleaned the house, organized clothes, washed all the diapers , the list goes on. Since Saturday I haven't had the energy to do anything! This morning I went outside to water and slipped down our hill. Baby seems fine but my ass is planted on my couch for the rest of the day.
  • I put only 1-2 things on the list for each day. Then make sure to rest before and after. If its just one long list it seems too overwhelming.
