Diapers- Have to share!

So yesterday we were headed out, but I didn't want to carry an entire diaper bag, especially since DS was in regular underwear (potty training).  I wanted one diaper on hand, just in case, but it was too big to fit in my little clutch.  DH stuffed the diaper in his pocket.

While at work, I received a text from DH that he had done the laundry- and forgotten to remove the diaper from his pocket.  The diaper went through the wash and did NOT burst open.  I am super impressed at the liquid capacity of these diapers!  If you were following my FFFC, this is the same brand of diaper that I used when stuck in traffic.

This is the Parent's Choice diaper, which is the Walmart store brand.  Give the store brands a chance before going with name-brand only stuff!

  • DH did that with a pampers once. It's amazing how much liquid those things can hold! ...and how big they get.

    You got so lucky!

I washed a disposable overnight Huggies once and it bust open in the wash and holy crap, what an ordeal that was.  I don't wish that on anyone, and my best advice when you have a toddler is to store the diapers where they can't reach them, and to never just blindly dump the laundry into the washer, but look at is as you're loading it and make sure you don't accidentally wash a diaper.

  • @SusieBW‌ DS has recently taken a serious liking to "helping" with the laundry by adding things to the hamper. If I hand him some clothes, he'll go toss them in...but he tosses in other stuff too.

I didn't realize this and dumped a load into the washer without looking. I washed a tennis ball, a dinosaur, and some crayons. But the crayons I didn't even find until after they had been dried in the dryer! DH and I spent ages scraping melted/dried crayon off the dryer tub. Thank goodness they didn't mark our clothes!

Now I always load the washer one piece of clothing at a time. :P
