Dad got bit by a dog!

Yikes! My dad was walking in his neighborhood this morning and stopped to talk to a neighbor who was working in her yard. Her dog, who has been friendly to my dad before, ran up and bit him on the hand, and it's apparently pretty bad. He was transferred from the ER in their town to a bigger hospital with specialists. He'll likely need surgery and has probably sustained nerve damage. This is so crazy!

I have no idea. He's never had problems with the dog before. My mom said it was a chocolate lab.

It wasn't his dominant hand, thankfully I guess the doctors decided he'd be okay with stitches and a cast. He will have a little bit of nerve damage in his thumb.

I'm still not sure what happened. He said he thought the dog was just as surprised as anyone by what happened. My mom said there was a lot of blood... I gave birth but the thought of that still makes me queasy!
