No bleeding after D&C?

I've read lots of the old threads on here and it seems that most people bleed quite a bit and for a quite a while following their D&C. I had my D&C on Friday morning and have only needed a pantyliner for the tiniest amount of brown spotting in the three days since. I'm wondering if I should be expecting a gush of red blood sometime soon and a pick up in the amount of bleeding? I was 8 weeks at my D&C with a blighted ovum. They did my D&C with curettage and suction, if that makes a difference. I've also had zero cramping or discomfort.

I should say that I had a D&C about a year ago for another loss at 7 weeks and following that one I straight away bled quite a bit (bright red, moderately heavy) and continued for two weeks before tapering off into spotting.

Hoping someone can tell me if this is normal or if they spotted first and bled later ... I'm going back to work today (I work as a nurse on a med/surg floor at a hospital) and I really don't want to get caught off guard. Thanks in advance you guys.

    First and foremost, I am sorry for your loss. As for spotting after D&C, I had mine last Friday (5/2) after a failed misoprostol treatment and for the most part, I have barely needed to use a pad or panty liner, although I have worn one at all times for over a week. I have had a few minor gushes and/or passed small clots, but most of my spotting is when I wipe after using the bathroom. I actually went pad free yesterday for the first time and was fine. I think everyone is different. I would suggest wearing a panty liner and packing a heavier pad just in case for a few days just to be safe. Take it easy today, going back to work is exhausting both mentally and physically.

    I had bleeding the first day, but after that only very light brown spotting for about a week. My doctor told me it was normal when I saw her at my 2 week post op appointment.

    I bled for about 3 days. Liners in the AM, overnight pads in the PM. I was told the more active you are (light walking/walking) the less blood and clots you'll have. WHen you sit for a while it "collects". It's been about two weeks now and I have a f/u Friday.

    Thank you everyone. I appreciate your responses and I'm sorry for your losses. I spent 8 hours running like crazy at work today and while I was crampy, I didn't bleed any, just the light brown spotting. Those of you who said going back to work would be hard were right. I could really have used more mental time off. I thought working would help take my mind off it, but I felt myself tearing up off and on all day long. My follow up is in three weeks, so we'll see what my doctor says then. Thank you again!
