We had a wonderful early anatomy scan!! I was paranoid baby wouldn't cooperate, and it didn't cooperate fully, but that's because the tech had to keep chasing it around.
They were able to check full anatomy, it just took a bit longer because of all the movement.
The posterior fossa and cerebellum are beautifully NORMAL for a 16w fetus. Arms and legs were moving, hands were opening and closing (which is apparently a great sign at 16w) and all measurements are in order or ahead. I cried a bit when my MFM came in post scan and told me he wanted to walk me through the images; he knew I would only look if things were normal.
MFM said that this is wonderful news and I should allow myself to exhale. And so I am, though it's a very long, slow exhale. I know the 20w complete A/S and echo will give us the final confirmation, but I am in a place now where I think we can tell our parents and start making plans.
... And I'm a killjoy and do not know the sex. 4 more weeks! Though I could easily e-mail my geneticist between now and then to find out, and I may have DH do so later this week.
5 cycles of "TTC" - 3 intentional, 2 not so intentional. 5 BFPs. My rainbow arrived 10/15/14.
