Protesting bibs?

We've been using one of these bjorn bibs since Christmas, and I love it.  The pocket is great, as LO sometimes spits about half of his food back out, and it prevents a lot of messes.

Recently, LO has been trying to pull it off about halfway through his meals.  He's not done, as after I take it off, he goes right back to eating, but I guess it's annoying him?

Is this just a phase, or should I just start feeding him naked to avoid all the stained clothes?  I feel bad forcing him to wear it when it's really just a convenience for me thing.  Thoughts, ladies?

E pulls his bibs off all the time and I just put them back on.  We just have the basic wipe off kind though.  I may have to get some like you have.  His food is always half out his mouth.  He takes a bite and then sees another one he wants and spits out what is already in his mouth.
LO does this same thing - it's like he's too excited to wait and swallow, he has to have whatever new food it is *now*.  I'd highly recommend this bib - it's just awesome!

@CL8badB - LO does the same thing going fishing.  I think it's adorable and very resourceful (and only a little gross)!

  • DD also just started pulling off her bib as well. If what she's eating isn't too messy I just keep it off. If I wait a couple of minutes and put it back on I get another 5 minutes before she tries to pull it of again.

  • I gave up on the bib a long time ago. I try shout on the stains first and if that doesn't work then I just bleach it. It wasn't worth the fight anymore.

  • I gave up on bibs over a month ago. KJ pulls them off almost immediately.

  • Vinny pulls them off about 3seconds into the meal then proceeds to throw it in the floor. We do the dance of on and off until he completes the meal conisistantly saying we eat with a bib on.

  • I used bibs for like 1 week. Ds1 hated them and so does ds2. I just take off their shirts and let them eat in their undershirt. They are white so I just end up bleaching them clean.

  • My toddler was also doing the same thing, but that was almost a year ago when I was still using cloth bibs for her. It seems that she really hates wearing that kind of bibs because it gets wet easily in the middle of her mealtime and I think that's the reason why she pull it off. That's the time when I had a lot of laundry to do because every mealtime requires new outfit. I tried using another type of baby bibs (the plastic one). She likes wearing it, so I decided to continue using it until now and I refuse to use cloth bibs anymore.
  • Just realized I've never asked daycare if she eats with a bib on...

I know LO doesn't wear a bib at daycare judging by the state of dirty clothes that come home!  Seems a safe bet that if they don't come home with food all over their clothes, maybe daycare does?

I asked this morning and was told they use bibs that were hand made by someone and they can't be easily removed by her. Sometimes she gets it off and they just put it back on. She rarely has food on her when I pick her up so I knew something was up. Sometimes at home I just want to throw a tarp over her with a hole in it and throw it away after...

  • Anyone try these? How easy are they for babies to remove?
