Using diapers from a diaper cake

Hi ladies! I just got back from being out of town for 2 weeks and am trying to catch up!! While we were away we had our first baby shower and got two diaper cakes. They were so incredibly adorable but what about using the actual diapers? They seem so wrinkled from being rolled. I know this is probably a stupid question but, for those S+TM's, does the integrity (for lack of a better word) of the diaper hold true even if they are pretty wrinkled? Could it cause unnecessary leaking?

I didn't have a problem with the diapers, they were however a pain in the ass to store. We had two diaper cakes with over 100 diapers in each of them. It was awesome to have so many diapers but they don't lie flat after being rolled and you can only stuff so many in the diaper caddy thing. We just used them up first before the packaged diapers that stacked nicely in the closet.

I used all of mine. I would go ahead and take the cakes apart and stack them up if I were you. You will go through so many diapers, a few ugly ones won't matter.

I was so sad, my aunt made me a diaper wreath first pregnancy. It was so cute but when I took it apart the circular core she used had left little pieces off green styrofoam all in the diapers so I had to throw them all away. I didn't want that up against my son's skin. Such a waste of good diapers!

Same here. With my first I just unrolled the diapers and threw them in a trash bag for storage and used them all up!

Thanks ladies... I will definitely use them - it's good to hear that no one has had issues with leaking after they have been rolled. I am excited - those diaper cakes hold A LOT of diapers!!
