It is so nice out today that I wore sandals to work. Then I looked at my toes and they were really gross, so I took a long lunch and got a pedicure. I was gone kind of a long time but no one at work noticed, so I'm not saying anything. I feel a little guilty, but not that much...

Also - the cashier at the grocery store today had the most amazing mullet that I have seen in years. I wished that I wore glasses that had a secret camera in the lens so that I could take a picture inconspicuously...

Yesterday we were out, and this lady had blue hair. LO was so entranced by it that he stared at her the whole time we were at the zoo. He kept trying to touch her head.

My baby has this new nursing habit. He clamps down on my nipple like he's re-enacting that scene from Twister where they're holding on for dear life. Then he rips his head off like the tornado won. Super ouch.

We have family that has decided to come to town for Memorial Day weekend. 1 of them (my cousin) has never met DS and I can't wait. Growing up we were pretty close so I'm very excited.

DD and I are finally going to California and then Oregon to see my family in 2 weeks!

And even more exciting than that, I'm going to leave DD with my parents one night and go out with my two best friends and then spend the night at their apartment!

It will be the first time I'm away from her for more than 3 hours...freaked out and super excited at the same time!

My babysitter just told me they're going to London on July 6th for 5 1/2 weeks! Now I have to find a daycare that will take DS for 5 weeks.

No family near us. I'm hoping I can get him into his old daycare for that 5 weeks. I'll find something it's just going to cost me more than the babysitter. More of an inconvenience than anything.

This weekend at a kindergarten festival another mom tried to give my 7 month old mayo-drenched-pasta salad from the fork she had already had in her mouth and both of her children's mouths.

WTF.

I grabbed her arm and pushed it firmly away. Then I allowed the other German speakers to jump her ass verbally.

Tomorrow, LO and I are flying back home for my best friend's wedding! After being alone with her for 3 weeks I am so pumped to be able to hand her off to my mom or MIL and take a nice, loooong shower.

I went out for Mother's Day brunch with DH and LO. The brunch included an ice cream sundae. The waitress brought one for LO and then asked if she was allowed to eat it. Um, no! So waitress took it back. At least she could have left it for me! So mean.

Over the weekend dh was going to mow the very overgrown lawn but the mower wouldn't start. He took it in to get it fixed and called a service to come mow today since it is a jungle out there.
The lady who owns the service company ran out of gas in her mower after they started so she came to the door to tell me. And I was in the bathroom pooping. DD answered and came to find me so I had to stop pooping to go talk to her.

Once you become a mom, you never poop in peace.

DS starts daycare tomorrow. It was just getting too stressful to find people to watch him. A lot of people offered to help, but no one could do it on a consistent basis, so it just got to be too stressful.

I actually think that he'll enjoy the socialization of daycare. But, you know, it's just different. I feel like I have less control over the situation. Also I hate having to pay when he's not there. I understand why it works like that, but I don't like it!

There is a parishioner who sponsors my classroom every year and then comes in to visit my students in the spring. He is 89 years old and he fell down his basement steps today, but didn't want to cancel because he we so excited to see the kids. He has no family and I just want to adopt him! DH said I can't adopt him.

I love cute little elderly people :x they're my favorite! I used to love my clients and their crazy stories..they are cool shit!

we went to Revere Beach. It's not the best but it's close to my apartment and it has sand, water and awesome people watching. Rachel had a blast!

It is not, I have no siggy.

She is 7 and she does not often answer the door alone. She did this time because she knew it was the lawn lady and I told her she could answer it.

No, we are not in Canada. Is door answering different in Canada?

Saturday two of my friends from high school announced that they are expecting a baby. I'm so excited for them, even though they live in NC now. I wish they lived closer though so we could hang out, since DH and I don't have any friends that are in our life stage right now.

And then today, a FB friend (my former manager) announced that she's due in November! A few weeks ago her and her fiance of several years just randomly got married in the middle of the week, so it was easy to see coming.

Nobody saw the Michael Moore movie? Apparently many Canadians don't even lock their front doors. More trusting, I guess. I think it may be true of Midwesterners and/or rural folk.

I'm a pretty protective mom. My daughter isn't allowed out of the yard alone and doesn't cross the street without me watching. We also live in an area with one of the lower crime rates in the nation.
Oh, and I had to poop so not too much I could do about that...

I randomly flipped to MTV, and one of the new 16 and Pregnant episodes is on. This girl and her BF just bought a crib from a lady of Craigslist. The lady was wearing an eye patch and told them "it is missing some screws, but I made do with it."

They took it and got it back and the mattress is covered in roaches, but they are just going to "spray it down real good" and let it set outside for awhile.

Those birds and that frog decided to make themselves at home on my front patio. There is bird shit everywhere from mama bird flying in and out.

Ignore all the dirt and grass, we just had a huge storm with lots of wind and rain.

I just fought with the bank about how I needed to make a car payment since it was "Monday" and they were closed all weekend... Only to get on here and realize that the Monday threads are already a day old. Soooo I guess today is Tuesday?.. X_X
