Multiples

How can you tell when it's more than normal twin aches?

Almost 32 weeks and having an awful day! Everything hurts and I'm getting random shooting pains . I had a brutal week at work and I think I overdid it. Part of me wants to call the doctor because I know how quickly things can change but they don't feel like contractions. So sore from these babies its hard to tell if it's something other than carrying multiples!!

I totally empathize!  The rule of thumb is when in doubt, call.  My OB told me that if a twin mama does not end up in L&D for some false alarms a couple times, she is doing something wrong ;-).  I went in to get monitored once after I overdid it, and did not regret it at all.  It is good to know what is "normal pain" vs. "not normal."

Shooting pains doesn't sound right. Id give a call. And go lay down with a giant bottle of water. But I thinking if you're intuition is saying this feels more than the normal uncomfortable stuff, then get monitored.
  • Shooting pains could just be round ligament pain. BH can usually calm down if you drink water and lay down for a little while. But when in doubt, call!
I've gone into labor 3 times, and each time it felt like period cramps at first.
