2nd Trimester

Baby Boy Name Help!

Alright so my 2nd son is due this August and my husband and I have so many names rolling through our heads we just can't decide.  With our first, Keaton, we had that picked out before we even knew his gender!  Now I'm almost 25 weeks and just can not decide, ahhh!  Our parents give us the "Oh... that's interesting" whenever we pick out a name, they're very traditional and we like unique but nothing made up for sure, lol!

- Kaemon (pronounced: Cayman, it's Japanese which is part of my heritage) -- but does it look too close to Keaton?
- Kameron (Scottish heritage, another part of both hubby & myself)
- Calvin (we like because it's not too common, but we both joke "calvin & hobbes" when we see it, lol)
- Corbin (seems a bit like a southern twist to it, since we live in Alabama.  Not too common, I think it's more of a surname?)

Middle name: Richard (family name)

I like Calvin or Corbin.    Is "Kameron" the Scottish spelling?  I have never seen it with a "K" and would be ok with "Cameron" but I hate "Kameron."   I don't care for "Kaemon" but if it is Japanese and part of your culture, I would side eye it less.  However, I do think it is too close to Keaton.

  • My first name is Cameron, I have never seen it spelled with a "K".

I like Cameron with a C( maybe I'm biased), Calvin (also maybe biased, my little brothers name), and Corbin is okay.

If I had to chose, I would chose Calvin.

I haven't heard of Kaemon being attributed to Japanese heritage, but if it is truly of Japanese origin and that spelling is correctly transliterated it would not be pronounced "Cayman". It would be closer to Kah-eh-mon with a long 'o' and subtle 'n' sounds.
