Tuesday: 2 mile walk
Wednesday: 1 mile walk/1 hour prenatal yoga
Thursday: 2 mile walk
Friday: Way too crampy to move after membrane sweep
Saturday: 4 mile walk
Sunday: 3 mile walk

Re: Exercise Thread...anybody?

  • I'm envious of you ladies who still have the motivation to stay active!

My "exercise" is keeping up with and still managing to lift/carry my (almost) 2yr old and walking around at outdoor events on the weekends with DH and DD.

Also - stairs are hard, yo!

  • I can't wait to start running again but I am on doctor's orders to do no strenuous exercise until at least 6 weeks post c section
  • I can't say I do or can even manage a ton of walking. But I still do go to water aerobics once a week. Water aerobic does not make me uncomforitable because I try to keep most of my body under water the whole time. Walking long distances would just make me miserable in these final weeks.
  • Walking actually makes my back feel best these days. I try to manage 2 miles on the treadmill at lunchtime 3-4 days a week, and 1 mile after work through the neighborhood with the pup.

  • Thanks @Jcrewgirl85‌ ! I've actually gained less this pregnancy than with my first, so I figure the whole chasing a toddler thing had to have had *something* to do with it ;)

  • I am not walking b/c I don't want to bring on labor - not that it WOULD, but I'm not chancing it. I am already going to be induced at 39 weeks and I don't really want him to come before then.

I am still doing my pregnancy workout DVD (mostly just arms and some legs, strength training). It's only maybe a 20 minute set so it doesn't feel like too much.

Meh. Just taking a shower leaves me winded now. I logged 3 miles of actual exercise last week and I'm not sure I'll get even that much this week.

I managed to get to yoga twice this week. Every week, there are poses that are no longer accessible to me. This week it was wheel (boooo!) but I still managed to get into headstand (yay!). Mostly I just flop around and try not to be too distracting for the rest of the class.

For some reason as I was reading this I pictured it as an Amy Poehler or Kristen Wiig SNL skit and it made me laugh out loud. :)

  • Does running up and down the stairs at all hours of the night to tinkle count!?! I feel like after this last bit of pregnancy the stair master at the gym should be a piece of cake!

  • I'm still keeping up with my spin classes 3-4 days per week.  I really thought this would help LO drop but so far I haven't had much luck.  I also walk my dogs for about 30 minutes a day, but other than that, I'm too tired and uncomfortable to do much else.  At least the end is in sight now!

Monday: 3 mi run, 10 min elliptical
Wednesday: 3 mi run, 10 min elliptical
Saturday:3 mi run, 5 min stairs
    Sunday: 3 mi walk

I still cannot believe I was able to run into my 40th week, but today I've officially retired my running shoes until after this baby is born. This baby is sitting high and tight, which is why I think I was able to run for so long, but I finally started having contractions last night so only walking for me. I remember reading that active moms tend to deliver early or on time, but guess that is totally not the case. It is also incredibly frustrating when people ask me if the baby is here yet and I say no, and then they suggest going for a walk. HELLO, how about I'm still running! It's frustrating hearing all this advice when in the end, LO will come when she's good and ready.

  • I've been walking at least 2 miles everyday for the last two weeks- feels pretty good. At one point I felt like I could start running but figured-- meh better not, haha... Plus I probably wouldn't have made it ten steps at a jog but I can't wait to run again!
  • I can't wait to start working out again! I had to stop running at 20 weeks, and had to stop the elliptical at 36 weeks because I was carrying so low it was painful.

Going to start walking next week, but won't be able to do much more until 8 weeks after my C/S.

Great job to the mamas who have been keeping it up!
