I put 5 or less only because I have a 9 month old that nurses all night and doesn't let me sleep. I hope this changes soon... As soon as I wean this guy! I just don't have the heart to do it yet.
Ps- I remember my first pregnancy and getting only 8 was brutal so I pass zero judgement on those who want to complain about only 8 hours of sleep!
Since I've been pregnant I usually have been in bed by 9 and will get up at 6 but I chose 7 because I get up to pee so much, get hot and throw the covers off-get cold and put them back on, toss and turn, roll DH over because of his snoring, and sometimes have to fight my bed space with a 3 yr old. So I usually get about 6-7 hours a night
I'm lucky- I can usually sneak in 9. Before I was pregnant, I didn't need much sleep but that has really changed. Although, I do spend a lot of time laying in bed awake, looking at TB, FB, reading etc...
I'm usually asleep around 10pm and DS is up around 7/730. We did sleep training with DS when he turned nine months and it was the best thing we could have done. All three of us sleep so much better. We will definitely sleep train #2 when we feel they are ready.
I'm usually in bed by 930 with lights off before 10. Sometimes I'll wake up to pee and DH hasn't even come to bed yet! I need to be up for work by 6, so if I didn't go to bed so early I'd be dragging the next day. And I used to not go to bed until 12 sometimes before I got the bfp.
My 20 month old now wakes up at 5:30 am thanks to the sun (even with black out curtains), so I try to go to bed by 9:30 pm so I can get 7 to 8 hours. DS still wakes up once a night, but he typically goes back to sleep easily. I would love more sleep, particularly on the weekends.
I've always needed a lot of sleep. I am between 8-9 hours a night, but I get up to pee 2-3 times and usually get hot and have to re-adjust so it's often closer to 8. I am not looking forward to being a sleep deprived new mom with a newborn that needs to eat every 2 hours! I'm hoping I can pump and DH can do one of the feedings in the night when he's not working.
I need around 9 to function, but DH gets up at 4 for work and generally wakes me up (unintentionally) and getting back to sleep is a real bitch. Add in getting up at 1am to pee, and 3am to eat (if I don't eat around then, I get pukey). And up again between 5 and 6 to pee again. Plus I don't get back to sleep for about 45 minutes to an hour after I get up so what sleep I do get is broken up into chunks. I would give up a lot for a 4 hour block of uninterrupted sleep.
Re: How many hours of sleep per night do you average?
