Stroller recommendation

First off....Feliz día de los madres!!

Ok so I officially HATE my travel system stroller and now that Sophia sits in the big part, I have realized what a POS it is. So I'm now in the market for a comfortable, lighter weight, umbrella style stroller.

Any recommendations?

Re: Stroller recommendation

  • Just picked up a city mini at JC Pennts for $60. Admittedly I have not used it yet. They are discontinuing the giggle baby boutique which had them and the floor model was marked down to $75. Utilizing the $10 off coupon and a rewards cert I had I couldn't pass in the deal. That being said if you have a Penny's near you you might want to check it out.

We have a quinny zapp xtra. DD is still in the infant car seat, but the zapp's seat folds with the stroller and is pretty compact

  • I was going to say the Maclaren too...friend owns it and it seems so easy and lightweight...she never complained about it.

Yes they are! Sophia is a little over 4 months old!

Unfortunately, she hates her car seat/carrier so taking her around in that is always a challenge andi have realized that her big stroller is a total POS. Makes me sad because of the money we spent on it.:(

I will definitely check out the city mini and mclaren!
  • I've used BabiesRUs cheapo (lasted almost 5 years), hand me down Chicco and my friend's Maclaren. Chicco is easiest to use to and Maclaren is lighter w more functional design. We used Maclaren at DisneyWorld and it was great.

  • We have a City Mini that we use for short trips or when we only need one in a stroller (we have a City Select with 2 seats for when we need both kids to have a spot).
The Mini is great! Very easy to maneuver and very easy to collapse and open.  You can do it with one hand.  The hood is very large so you can provide a lot of shade from sun or rain for LO.  It is definitely worth a test drive.

We have a Joovy Groove as an umbrella stroller for DD1 and I love it. It can actually lay flat so it can accommodate little babies too.

  • I also have the Britax B Agile and love it!  DH does too.  I love that we can walk fast and don't kick the bar underneath, it's easy to fold and unfold, and lightweight so easy to carry up and down the stairs.

  • I am another City Mini girl. I used the Chicco snap & go caddy until Sat, but it's just too hot for him to sit in the car seat as a stroller seat. The maneuverability and weight of the city mini are awesome (also 16 lbs).

Another vote for a city mini. I have the city mini GT and I love it so much I went out and bought the double version.  Like people have said-it's pretty light weight, you can collapse it with one hand, doesn't take up much trunk space, well made and durable. Totally worth the price IMHO.

They just released a newer model, so you might be able to find last year's model on sale. There is not too much of a difference.
