I have two.....Tomorrow I'm hosting Mother's Day. I'm really excited because it'll be the first time hosting something at our new house.
I got an unexpected reimbursement check from my insurance for over payment for my Makena shots. While I know I should put it in the bank but instead, I just treated myself to two new nursing bras (yahoo!) and will be going to get the Petunia Picklebottom bag I want but couldn't justify spending the money.
It is lovely out, my kiddos are painting at the kitchen table, I finished most of my last-minute shopping yesterday, and DH promised we would be productive with cleaning our bedroom and finishing the nursery this weekend.
Finally, no major plans for the weekend and I love it! Last night my closest girlfriends gave me a surprise sprinkle at a local restaraunt so that was a nice start to the weekend. Other than that, relaxing with my boys and grilling steaks this afternoon. Sunday we'll go to church then lunch with the inlaws for Mothers Day and then a visit to my parents house.

We have our work shower today! I am glad DH and I work together because I hate all the attention I am getting about this baby. I am on the shy side so having him there really helps (he is the exact opposite of shy).
Lazy day planned today- finishing up a book for book club tonight and then doing some yardwork stuff tomorrow. It is so nice to just be at home with not much to do!
Also- I slept until 10:30 this morning! WHAT IS THAT AWESOMENESS!? Thank you, universe. I SO needed that.
H is on his way to talk to someone who was interested in buying his car. I'm so excited to potentially get rid of the POS! We can get a bigger car next weekend and then I won't have to worry about how to fit two rear facing car seats in the tiny back seat of my car!
And he's bringing food home. So I suppose even if he doesn't sell the car, it's still a win.
DH just left to go to Ikea for the chair I want for the nursery, which is the last big item we need. Excited to have everything done in there! Tonight we are going to go out and watch the Kings game, go Kings go!

The PPB diaper bag I put on our registry (without ANY expectation of someone actually buying it) freaking showed up at our house today! But with no invoice or note saying who it's from- and DH says he didn't order it. I am so shocked and excited to have received it and I don't know who to thank for the awesome baby gift!
My best friend threw me a complete surprise shower today. I had no idea!!! I knew she was coming to visit for the weekend, that's it. This morning, my mom showed up at my door for a surprise Mother's Day weekend. She lives 6 hours away, I had no clue she was coming! I thought that was my only surprise, and we went to Boston for lunch. When we came back home, my house was filled with family and coworkers! I can't believe how lucky I am, it was such a wonderful afternoon. I didn't really want a shower because I don't like attention, but I absolutely appreciate everything that was done for me!!!
It's 8pm. C is in bed. DH is at a bachelor party. I have a big bowl of ice cream and the remote all to myself...life is good. . We got the rest of our newborn stash of cloth diapers today, and tomorrow we're having a combined brithday/birthday/mother's day bbq at our house, I'm super excited! Everything is ready because we're keeping it super simple, so I just have to sit with my feet up and make sure DH remembers to put cheese on my burger .
Got to see my FIL become a deacon in the Catholic Church today. He's worked 4 years for this. Today was a mass filled day but surprisingly with the exception of one in law (my soon to be sister in law) everyone was great to be around. DH also got to see his brother for the first time since July. It was a good day over all, but now I just want to kick my feet up and spend time with my sister who I haven't seen in a while.
Today was my baby shower and the weather actually held out to be a pretty nice day. We got a lot of really nice gifts and I think once I go through everything we will have everything we need for her.
I leave you for the night with this gem, upon DH getting home from the bachelor party at 10:30pm: DH: So, I went to my first strip club tonight. Me: Oh? How'd that go? DH: Not well, apparently....
I died laughing! Turns out the groom and his brother both got a lap dance, and then the only black guy in the party ordered a drink and got asked if he could pay for it, when everyone else just got a tab opened. He didn't take it well and so they left to go to a different club. DH thinks it was a misunderstanding, but he came home because the other club was too far.
We went to a baby animal festival today and our daughter rode a shetland pony! She loved it! I was worried she would freak out but she didn't. I think it was due to the excitement of wearing a helmet during the ride. Seriously.
Guise! I am actually wearing "real" clothes today (ie not yoga or exercise pants or sweats), did my hair and did my make-up today! Told The Hubs he really needs to take me out to show me off today since who knows when this will happen again before D-Day. Oh and we're going for some sushi in a little bit and I plan to eat whatever without any guilt.
DH and I did an indoor grill pan BBQ. We initially weren't going to bother because we had a major busy weekend, but we figure we need to do all those "go-for-it" type meals while we still can. My homemade macaroni salad worked out (I'm a good cook, but I am crap with reading recipes line-for-line, and pregnancy brain converts teaspoons to tablespoons), as did burgers, and franks (which I can't lie...I still microwaved mine out of habit just in case). And DH surprised me by doing the dishes!
I'm glad that we are still "bothering". I know that it's the making an attempt part that will keep us strong even during major changes.
