FKA mimi4347: diaper rash magician and unofficial expert on excrement
This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
It's me, it's me! Three letters and two numbers!! Should've picked something more memorable like McFly or NINfan :-D. DD will be 1 on Saturday!!!! I've been crying off & on for a few weeks, remembering last year. May 11 was the day I was admitted to the hospital last year and told I'd be on bed rest until at least 34 weeks, hopefully longer. Didn't make it. It's still hard. So as much as I don't want to celebrate the hardest and scariest day of my life on May 17, we will be having a family party on Saturday to celebrate my amazing gal who everyone says doesn't seem like a preemie at all anymore. We also may have a homecoming anniversary party for her, which will be bigger and more celebratory for me as opposed to painful like her actual birthday. I'll let you all know how it goes next week!
I know exactly what you mean, @KTZ17. Preemie birthdays are a strange, complicated thing to celebrate. Huge hugs. >:D< >:D< >:D<
I suspect we may have a line-free party at some point in the future....
