Having a pity party of one here. DH, E and I are at the beach for a big volleyball tournament. We go every year and I was looking forward to my first Mothers' Day at the shore. Not only did DH not get me a card, he also took all of our beer to the beach with him to share with his fellow players. E and I couldn't hang out on the beach with them for very long bc she's so fair skinned. Even with sun block, long sleeves and a hat, and sitting under an umbrella, she turned pink.
So, I spent most of my day in the house, alone, with an infant. DH didn't get back until almost 7. Most of the restaurants and all the liquor stores were closed. Now, E's in bed - it's a beautiful night. And I'm sitting in the porch, watching the ocean and drinking water.
Short version: A fucking card would have been nice.
