Baby Items DH Laughed At ... but Turned Useful!

After DS was born - I was trying to BF him. DH goes .... "ahhhh  you need that pillow you have at home to help". I was too distracted to side eye him.

Second thing, DS spit up and DH wanted to help him clear his mouth. He asks "can you get that sucker thing so I can help him".

Both items he said I didn't need, and poked fun at me for wanting them. And long behold, he asked for one himself!

What items did you insist on having, that DH gave you a time about? Or what items are you expecting DH will end up loving that he previously rolled his eyes about?

Re: Baby Items DH Laughed At ... but Turned Useful!

  • Our swing. DH dragged his feet, all but begged me to reconsider getting it. He thought it'd take up too much space and be pretty useless since he expected baby to spend her time attached to one of us or in her crib sleeping.

DH was converted to the cult of the swing the first night we brought her home when he realized that she slept better in it than in the crib OR in his arms and with the extra hands free time he could do things other than hold baby- like read a book or prep her next bottle.

  • The boba. He only agreed to getting it because I insisted it would be handy. He wears DS more than I do!

I didn't buy it until he was 6 months old but I'm going to try this LO in there from the start, I have the 3G that doesn't require an insert. The moby should be fine for a nb too, if you have the wrap that I'm guessing you have.

@florassecret‌ the weight minimum on my boba is 7 lbs.

We were the opposite, DH talked sense into me over the car mirror where you can see the baby. He was like, "we made it through 2 kids fine without this. Plus the big kids are right next to her."

  • I think the moby is eight pounds. I should google it. It will help when DH goes back to school and I can move around!

I had a lot of trouble figuring out the boba, I think I watched the YouTube video about 25 times. I put DD in there for the first time yesterday and I really liked it.

  • My H never thought we needed anything and always balked when we made purchases, but then all those items came in handy.  Ironically the two things he insisted on are the least used items, the back pack carrier and the jogging stroller.  We don't run, so we only use the jogger for rough terrain and Asher never lived the back pack frame, so we've used it like a handful of times.

My hubby can't understand why I'll need a pumping bra. "Can't you just hold them there?"
He bought pacifier cleaning wipes because we "need" those....sure

I loved the paci wipes. We went through them like crazy too because DS was notorious for throwing them or just letting them fall out of his mouth and deciding he needed them back.
