Clicky Poll Saturday

Because CPS sounded awful. There has been sort of a debate in our family recently ever since LO spent her first night out at my mom's. My dad said that it could be bad for her to sleep all night with music on. Disruption of brain waves or something. I am not well researched on the topic and to be honest, I never thought about it. We live on a busy street and it drowns out much of the noise and she has just always slept really well with it. What say you, J13?

I put yes to music, but it's not music.  Just white noise.  All night. Everynight.

  • No noise in lo's room, but my older 2 both sleep with the radio on. I usually turn it off when I go to bed, but that's more just because I don't want to listen to it....

No music or white noise here but I don't think it would matter.

White noise at night from a machine in LO's room. Fan on all night every night in DS' room since he was born. When LO is home we often have on light classical music at nap time.
  • Idunno. It disrupts my sleep. I can't hear music and not think about it. Can't tune it out. Side effect of my music ed degree?

  • Not music. Nature sounds. They were on all night every night with Marnie and she doesn't have a problem with the silence these days.

    I honestly don't think it is a problem. :)

  • We put music on when he goes down to sleep, but on a 15 minute timer, and whenever I'm up in the middle of the night I do the same. DH found the same article and freaked out... Sooo I decided it wasn't a hill to die on and fight about it. He's a bit over the top about everything.... Sometimes I wish google didn't exist!

From like age 9 on I slept with a TV on. Although I turned the volume down, it was just for the light. Now I have a "fireplace" heater thing that I can just turn the light on. Can't sleep without it.

Yes. I am 20 and I am scared of the dark.
I'm 35 and I'm scared of the dark.

I get reading spooky stories on Reddit\nosleep and if Marnie starts crying in the night I make DH go see what's wrong.

Just in case it's a monster or a ghost or something.

With DD we put a CD on so it'd stop on its own. With all three heavy sleepers now in the nursery there's plenty of small noises. We don't need to put music on anymore...though sometimes it seems like there's some going when I hear the snoring. :P

  • I've been trying to wean me and LO from the white noise at night. I don't see a problem with it though.
