(We are having a lot of 2-8 year olds at LO's party and are leaning towards doing this for the kids...looking forward to seeing your answers, thanks!)

I was wondering the same thing. I'm doing beach pails with bubbles & chalk for the 4 little ones that will be there, but we also have 9-16 year olds coming as well. What the hell do I get them? ( Sorry to hijack your post). We will also be having a candy buffet that is supposed to be the "favor". I am at a loss.

  • If it were just kids I may have done a loot bag but its mainly adult family members.

  • We have 14 kids coming so I'm making them. Though it's kind of hard to make them apply to ages 1-12. Right now I have monster tattoos, monster suckers, and monster beach balls.

We're doing baby sombreros and putting the loot in them: bubbles, baby maracas, mariachi rubber ducks.

They'll be 5 other girls ranging from 1.5-6 so I made goody bags with the following; princess wand, markers and notebook, light up bouncy ball, bubbles and brownie little bites.
    3 ectopic pregnancies (EDD's 1/30/12-tube removed, 6/2/12-methotrexate and 10/2/12-methotrexate)
IVF and Natural FET resulted in BFN's and a hole in our wallets
Natural BFP #4 on 9/7/12 gave us our miracle on 5/18/13

Edit In response @ALP514‌ I have some older kids and their bags will have mostly choclate and candy that isn't in the buffet. They will also get little things they enjoy, nail polish, little earrings, sling shot for water balloons, fancy pencils and notepads, slime, sticky hand that you throw but they are attached to a string thing so it comes back to you. Little balls that bounce really high, but not so tiny that babies will eat them. Also whoopee cushions, the kids always love them although not all adults do. Edit, There will be more as well depending on what I see when I am shopping.

There are so many little things that I know they enjoy so I usually stick to those. The oldest kids are 15-18 but they get candy and chocolate only. Two of them are my sons and won't care and my nice won't mind some candy either. (Probably nail polish in hers too)

The loot bags for the younger kids will have a different assortment. Young or old I try ti make the lootbag personalized for each kid or age group.
  • I only brought a couple for some kids I knew would be coming. IK my LO is only turning 1 but the loot bags are for his older guests so I thought it was a good idea.

  • No I didnt I debated it..we only had 3 kids there though and one was my nephew who is 1 also so I didnt find it worth it.  If there were more kids I prob def would have.  I also debated doing a pinata but figured when they are older and again more kids.
  • This is what I did for ages 1 to 7. The older kids can have one, but I doubt they will. There is a ball, bubbles, shaker, and a couple pieces of candy...Image and video hosting by TinyPic
  • I am doing them. They will have little stuffed circus animals, Circus animal lollipops, Circus animal rubber ducks and animal crackers.

Im doing them but thinking about just food? Like puppy chow, chocolate bark or something. That way the adults can take one too.

  • We are doing them and they will have 1 "gift" in them to go with her May Flower party theme. Aside from the Solar Dancing Flower they will have a few pieces of candy in them :-)image

  • ^^^those are adorable.
  • I voted no, but the kids will have something to take home. Since he is having an airplaned theme party, I found large foam glider airplanes at the dollar store that the kids will get to decorate and keep.

THANK YOU!!!! I was wondering what to put in the beach pails I bought. The gift tag will say "next time you go to the sea, take this pail and think of me" you can steal that if you want to. or if you think it's lame feel free to mock me openly.

    9-16 year olds no idea.

I am making sugar cookies shaped like cupcakes, and I have temp tattoos and bubbles. I would like 1 more small thing to go in the bags as well.

We're having like 20 kids, so I'm definitely doing loot bags.  It's a nautical theme, so I'm not sure what to put in there.  The age range is 1-13!

  • I've never done treat backs with toys and random trinkets, but I have always done a food favor. I made oreo cookie pops for N's party today.

I've never heard the term "loot bags" Andy I'm wondering if it's a regional term. :-?
  • Thanks for the replies ladies. I've been inspired! I'm impressed with some of the ideas. I guess we will for sure do a treat bag. @Trish625‌ in Canada where I am we say either treat bag or loot bag.
