No poop for 2 days?

5 day old DS has not pooped since we left the hospital, about 48 hours ago. I didn't start tracking diapers until day 3, but I know he had a LOT of dirty and wet during the first 2 days, like insane amounts of meconium from such a little guy. He is still having around 4 wet per day, acting normal but very gassy. He is EBF. I called the hospital, they said to "keep an eye on it." Did this happen for any of you? Is there anything I can/should do?

    My pediatrician said breastfeed babies can go up to 10 days with out a BM before they worry. Breastmilk is easily digested, try not to worry yet.

    Did your milk come in yet? This happened to me until my milk came in on Day 4. Went 2 days without pooping. She had 6 a day in the hospital and then nothing after that. Freaked me out!

    We had the same issue until my milk came in and now he poops all of the time!

    Of course, once I posted about it he pooped a big one! Thanks for the advice though, still good to know that it's totally normal.

    My lo poohs once every 2-3 days. She's been like that since my milk came in. Like you she had lots of meconium poohs. We are EBFing. Drs say it's fine as long as she is gaining weight and is content and not upset. She had lots of daily wet diapers.

    Oh and when she goes it is yellow and seedy only there is a lot of it!

    Seedy is good...it means that baby is getting the hind milk.

    Penny doesn't poop that often either. She might go every 2-3 days. We are EBFing too. With that said, she pooped twice today. That's the most she's gone since Sunday last weekend when and had 3 poops in a 6 hour window. Oh and she pooped Wednesday. I said poop 4 times....
