How did you do it? 5 ounces of formula to 1 ounce of whole milk and gradually add more whole milk less formula? When did you start? 12 months old is around the corner on May 27th.

My LO is 11.5 months and I have given him WCM in a sippy a couple times and he's not crazy about it at all. I'm not sure if its because its cold or just the taste. I will gradually add it to his bottle after his first birthday just because we are going to be traveling a lot and I don't want to throw him off even more.
My freezer stash is super low and I was going to run out before he turned 1 so instead of transitioning to formula than WCM I just went ahead and started WCM last week at 10.5 months. LO will be 11 months on the 17th. I just started giving him one sippy cup a day of WCM and he does great with it.
Our pedi said to start substituting some of the feeds at 11 months. She has had no sensitivity to dairy products so we've got the green light to starry on the 19th. Anyway, the plan is to still do her first bottle, last bottle, and a midday bottle of formula. Every feed in between will be OWCM. I'm not worried about her having too much too soon because she's so busy she only takes a couple ounces at a time.
I went cold turkey with ds1 and plan the same with this LO. I'll start doing wcm in sippies with meals instead of water. He won't take a bottle so I don't have to worry about that.
We're using goat milk, but I mixed it 50/50 with BM for one bottle. Then I went straight goat milk and he's been completely fine and had no issue with taste.

We just started giving him WCM one day in place of a formula bottle. His body handled it well so now he's down to 2 formula bottles a day. One when he wakes up and one before bed. He gets WCM and water throughout the day.
The nurses here told us to switch at 9 months. We tried cold turkey and he ended up throwing up a lot. So I switched up my game plan and tried just offering him little bits in a sippy cup to get his body used to it. We are now doing bottles half formula and half cows milk. As soon as this case of formula is gone we will be going to all WCM, hopefully his tummy is better able to handle it.
I don't do formula, I nurse, but we just started introducing cows milk a few days ago. She's tasted it before but never drank it because she didn't like the taste. So I just kept letting her taste it randomly. Tried in her sippy but she wouldn't drink it. Then a few days ago, put it in a bottle to see if that would make a difference and she drank 4 ounces over a few hours. So, tried it in her sippy again and she drank 3 ounces pretty quick... Since she has accepted the flavor now, I am just offering it to her once a day, starting with 4 ounces and will probably not do more than twice a day if even that because I plan to keep breastfeeding her as long as she wants to. It will just be nice to have her used to cows milk so I don't have to pump for car trips or when I go back to work.
@NurseMommy13 I started out giving Grayson a small amount at a time to make sure his tummy could handle it. Once I knew we were good I started giving him bigger amounts at a time!
I just gave DD a couple of ounces of WCM to see if she would take it without it being mixed with anything. I am soo over pumping, so I was hoping to start making the transition soon. She seemed to love it, so it looks like we will start replacing BM bottles with WCM when I am through my very small freezer stash.

IT'S A BOY
My freezer stash of BM is almost out, so I plan to start the tranisition at 11 months so that I can make a gradual adjustment.
