~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~

This is a list of women who are dealing with PCOS. Anyone can join in, so let me know if you want to be on this list! We can keep track of everyone?s cycle, offer advice, and support for each other. We check in every Tuesday and Thursday, and the check-ins can always be found in the PCOSbio.

Good luck and lots of sticky baby dust to everyone!

Let us know how you are doing. If you have any questions for the group to answer, feel free to ask.

QOTD: Have you been charting at all? Does your doctor agree with your choice?

Re: ~*~*~ PCOS Check-In ~*~*~

  • Same old; same old with me. Nothing new to report.

I charted for a couple of cycles but I have stopped. I got crosshairs but I never got AF with out prometrium. So My DR did not think I actually ovulated. My DR did not see the point in charting.

Loving life...one day at a time!
    Diagnosed with PCOS in 2003.
    Married in 2007.
    Failed adoption in 2008.
    No treatment yet.
Life changes have made TTC with treatment impossible so far.
    Trying on our own 2007 - 2013.
Calling the doctor to get started 11/25/13.
    Cycle 1 - 50mg Clomid/TI cycle started 12/1/13 - ovulated - BFN.
    Cycle 2 - 50mg Clomid/TI cycle - cancelled due to DH's flu
Cycle 3 - Benched - waiting on DH's test results for Hypogonadism

    PAIF/SAIF/PGAL/PAL ALL WELCOME!

  • Nothing new with me either.  Just waiting to O on my last round of Clomid with my ob/gyn.  Hopefully I get a BFP so I don't have to go to the RE three hours away.

QOTD: I've been charting for a long time, but only recently since I've started O'ing have I found it actually beneficial.  My ob/gyn said if it was going to help me see patterns in my cycle now that I am O'ing, he thinks it's a good idea.

  • I went to the doctor yesterday for my Clomid check.  They saw 2 eggs waiting to be released so we got the trigger shot.

I go on Monday to have my progestrone drawn.

I used to chart up until I got my first BFP in 2006.  After the m/c I just did not pick up the charting again.  My RE has not said anything about me charting.

  • I just started Femara last night and I have my day 12 ultrasound next week.  Hopefully things will be good to go for the trigger shot.  I'm not as hopeful for this cycle as I was the last two medicated cycles- I guess I'm not setting myself up for disappointment like I did the last two cycles.

I do chart.  My RE said I don't have to if I don't want to, but I am the type who needs to know what's going on.  I am glad that I had already prepared myself last cycle that I didn't ovulate.  Charting does not bother me so I continue to do it.

  • I'm on a break till the end of January due to ectopic and MTX shot, so not doing anything right now except using protection.

I don't chart. I have in the past but I'm annovulatory and my RE said it's not really worth it for me.

  • I'm just trying to stay sane until we start up our first medicated cycle...I've got 2 days left of BCP before we're on our way! Cycle will likely start early next week and we're doing Clomid + Gonal-F + Ovidrel.

I did chart when I first came off the pill, and again after my first course of Provera, but I usually give up somewhere around CD70. At this point, I figure we're doing a trigger shot and prometrium supps...why would I bother charting? I know when I'm supposed to ovulate and the prometrium supps will affect my temp regardless.

  • I didn't check in last week but AF arrived 8 days late and although it has been light, it has been draggin on for 8 days already. I go tomorrow for my follow up blood test (liver panel came back elevated on the 4th so I had to go off meds), fingers crossed everything looks fine.

QOTD: My doctor was the one who suggested charting. I've been halfassing this cycle - I haven't temped once yet, oops. Stick out tongueUsually I am good about it. I have only O'd a handful of times since I have been charting ( since Jan 08)

  • I am back on my met. I am taking 850mg and will be back up to 1600 starting tomorrow. My dr wants me to chart (cm & temps). I have been half-assed charting cm, but not temps. I am going to start though, I sware. (I am Such a bad patient)...
  • I'm starting Clomid cycle #4 this week. I'll be doing my first IUI this month. So far I've been ovulating, just not getting the BFP that I want. I'm a little nervous b/c my current insurance doesn't cover any AI procedures or monitoring so I'm going to pay OOP this month and spend the month of January looking for a new doctor on my new insurance.

I don't chart. I asked my nurse about it and she said with the meds that I'm on - Clomid and progesterone suppositories, that it wouldn't be accurate.

  • I tried charting for a couple of cycles, but now that I am doing IVF I figured there wasn't much point in it.

IVF possibly on hold due to polyps, I will find out tomorrow.

  • QOTD:  Charting tells you SO much information, regardless of what any doctor thinks, I highly, highly recommend it!  It is how I knew I wasn't ovulating, how I knew when I was settling into a pattern (CM, etc.), how I knew that I had finally started ovulating, and thus how I knew what to ask the doctors for and when.  I swear it's the best way to know what is going on inside you, even better than P4 tests, etc.  Best wishes, everyone!!!

  • Yes, I am charting.  My doctor didn't agree with it at first.  He liked the cbefm and opk's better.  That is until I had one month where I got + opk's and a peak on my cbefm and still didn't o.

  • I will be cleaning up the list before next Tuesday, so it will be shorter starting then. I am doing just fine, no new to report here. I love having a break cycle.

qotd: I have been charting, one form or another for 4 years now and it is because of that I was diagnosed so quickly. The first 3 years was temp charting and now the this past year I have only been doing CrM charting (cm only with a Creighton teacher).

  • Hi all. I haven't checked in in ages. Nothing much going on with me. On hold again until my next hematologist appointment in mid-Jan so we can decide what to do about the MTHFR.

QOTD: I used to chart, but stopped after both my OB/GYN and RE pretty much told me it was useless. I just don't ever ovulate on my own.

  • We started Met this week I'm starting at 500mgs then 1000mg next week and then 1500mg the week after. So I've been watching what I eat so I don't get sick but I'm hoping by taking it slow everything we be ok.

I stopped charting a month ago but I'm going to pick it back up with AF starts this month. So we'll see how it all goes.

  • Can I be added to the list please. My husband and I are waiting for our refreal so we can go see a speaclist. We have been TTC for almost 5 years.
Married July 3rd 2004 TTC since Aug 2004 DX with PCOS Aug 2007 Seen the RE on Aug 9th 2009 Put on Provera Had HSG on March 4th- TUBES ARE CLEAR!!!!! Aug 16th 2011 found out that we are 6 weeks pregnant
  • doing fine - just got back from our trip to the states with some Clomid to try once AF arrives.  I'm taking the provera progesterone (on day 2) since the HPT came back negative.  DH was checked in the US as well, and as I thought, he's completely fine (a little more than fine they said), so yes, the problem is all me!

QOTD:  charting has helped me prove that i'm not o-ing.  It was/is very helpful for me to have something physical to show the drs (since my french is not so good) and it also shows that I'm a serious and dedicated patient.

  • I had an HSG yesterday and they saw that my tubes are open, but he thinks he saw a fibroid.  So whatever that means and whatever comes next, I have no idea.  Not sure how long its been there, not sure if it was there for the last pg.  No ideas.  Of course the office isnt open today or tomorrow, so I just have to wait and wonder.  Not a good thing.  But anyways, thats all the news here.  We take our IUI class on the 15th.

Hope you all have a wonderful new years.

  • Currently in the 2WW- not really hopeful for this cycle, since I O'd on the left and don't have a left tube, but, there is of course a slim possibility. I think it's just easier NOT to get my hopes up.

QOTD- my dr told me that he wanted me to chart- I wasn't before hand. I'm really glad I am though, because it is nice to know for sure that I'm O'ing, rather than just guessing and hoping and waiting endless cycles.
