BF check in... anyone?

I assume there are still a few of us?

How is it going?
How much are you BF in a day?
Any plans to stop?
Anything else?

T will be 19 months on Thursday.

I'm feeding her twice a day - bedtime and first thing in the morning.
The night time feed is supplemented with a bottle, because I didn't think she was getting enough. The morning feed is super convenient for all of us, because it lets us stay in bed for a bit longer. (I don't think she gets much then either, but it's nice for cuddles.)

I'm starting to think it might be time to cut out the bedtime feed - but I have such mixed feelings about this. I went away last weekend, and she did really well with DH and a bottle. I don't think she'd mind if we stopped completely, but I really don't know how I feel.

Theoretically, I am happy to go to two years, but maybe I'm ready to stop now. But then I get all sad and decide I'm not ready to stop. And I have no real reason to stop (other than wanting my boobs to call my very own again!)

    Sorry for essay.

Yes, I didn't know whether to mention that new babies count!

    Well done!

  • Still at it. She nurses 2-4x/day, but usually 3. I simultaneously want to be done and never want to quit. She is still really into it and I don't have it in me to say no to her about her milk.

We are still nursing several times a day, but it is getting painful. I'm guessing it is from the pregnancy. I would like to be done before the babies come. She will be staying at the grandparents overnight (first night away from me) Sunday and Monday night while we do house hunting. Hopefully after the weekend she will be done or close to being done.

We're still at it here too. 3x a day on weekdays. 4 on weekends. No definite plans to stop, but I'm thinking I'll be ready by 2 if he doesn't wean by then. I love it, but it'd be nice to have my body completely back.

I think we are finally weaned....we dropped our last session (morning) earlier this week, but he randomly asked to nurse once each day, usually while having a tantrum, lol. He didn't ask today though, so I think we might be done! Feeling very ok with that--I'm so happy to have made it this far, and happy that weaning was so easy.

  • Awesome, my first time stuck in a box.

Still nursing 2x a day here.  First thing in the morning and then at bedtime.  I have been debating nixing the AM session, just haven't made a move yet.

  • Great job, all of you!

I weaned DS when he turned 16m, so that was 2 months ago. I missed it for about 2 weeks. Now it feels like ancient history!

  • Great job moms! I am hoping to go a lot longer with hypothetical baby #2 (made it 12 months with this one), so it is nice to see you all still at it!

  • Still nursing morning, nap and bedtime. She seems to ask for it a lot more frequently in the past week. I'm wondering if my supply is starting to run low. 19 months and going. Mixed feelings about stopping.

Last night was the first night Roman ever went to bed without nursing first.  It's a really bitter-sweet thing,  since that was our last feed to wean from.   I'm now 25 weeks pregnant, it took me 20 weeks to wean him from 8x a day to 0x, for him to stop nursing to sleep for both nap and bed, also for him to STTN with no night feeding's!!

@morrkim  around 15 weeks nursing became very painful for me, latching on was unbearable ...it was like that till the end :(   All the best nursing while being pregnant, I hope you are able to meet your weaning goal.

I went away a couple of weeks ago, and wondered if that would be the end for us, but it wasn't. I only missed 4 feeds though (two night and two morning).

. I noticed it getting painful a few days before I even found out I was pregnant and so far no relief.

  • E lost interest in December and we were done in January at 15 months. I would have kept going if he wanted to. I stopped with DS1 at 9 months so I was happy we made it longer. I saw my friend nurse her 2 month old and was a little jealous. I'm one that really doesn't love nursing so I was surprised how much I miss it.

  • We're still going strong. DS nurses six to eight times a day. I'm glad it worked out this way since he has problems with dairy and soy.

I would absolutely love to night wean him since he still wakes once a night. Otherwise, we're doing fine.
