I downloaded the wonder weeks app to understand the various leaps that DS will be going through so that I can anticipate fussy times. My question is that DS was born on 3/27 and his EDD was 4/2 and the app says that for premies you should use EDD not the actual birthday when assessing the leaps and cycle.
I don't consider DS a premie and think it's ok to use the birthday because of it being less than a week away from EDD.
Has anyone used this and what do you think?
Re: Wonder weeks app
To calculate the leaps you have to enter the due date. Also with preemies and twins. The timing of the mental development of a baby is linked to the age since conception and not to the age since birth. Therefore, to know when your baby is making a leap, you have to fill in the due date, and not the date of birth. Look at it this way: the brain of a baby that is born three weeks early is not as far developed as the brain of a full term baby. The brain develops, in and outside the whomb. This is why we calculate with the due date.
