I know I posted this on TTCAL but I love you ladies and need all the advice I can get.
I got a call from the RE's office about 1hr 40 mins ago. We were going over
the ER details for tomorrow and she told me that the RE wants to do a
freeze all for my embryos. I was shocked as this had never been
discussed. Apparently it has nothing to do with my lab work (and he had
me do an endometrial biopsy to prepare for the transfer) but because of a
new study that came out that says doing a freeze on day 5 after PGD and
transferring later increases the odds of success to 78% from 60% with a
fresh transfer on day 6. I have no idea what to do and we need to
decide tomorrow so I know whether or not to start PIO injections and
Estrace this weekend.
If we do a freeze all and one comes back
healthy, the soonest we could transfer would be July. However, what if
we only have one healthy one and it doesn't survive the thaw? Or even
two, and we lose one or both in the thaw? Then we would have wasted this
final attempt and I would be livid that we didn't transfer.
If
we decide to do a fresh transfer on day 6 (again, if we get a healthy
embryo), we run the risk of the embryo arresting between day 5 and 6 or
possibly not implanting because it had been out of my body too long. My
doc had never been too concerned about this before, apparently, until
this study. However, during our first IVF we had 3 beautiful embryos
that we tested on day 5 and 2 still looked perfect the next day (they
just weren't healthy for transfer).
I am so f-ing sick of something coming up and being a road block. I am sick of this journey. I just want a flipping child.
I need advice. What would you do?
