So now I'm freaking out

I went to the doctor Tuesday because I had some pain in my abdomen and back. They said everything looked good but tested me for a uti and sent me for a kidney ultrasound. The tech at the ultrasound said she wasn't allowed to tell me anything but not to worry everything looked good. I was supposed to have an appointment today but rescheduled for Monday. Now I just got an email of my lab report and it says there were abnormal crystals and some bacteria in my urine. It says the report was sent to my doctor on the 7th. I don't know if the didn't call because they aren't concerned or because they figured I was coming in for an appointment today. What has me worried is going the weekend if there is something wrong. Would you call the on call doctor tomorrow? I don't know how much they're going to be able to tell me without my chart. Why does this stuff always seem to happen on a Friday night? They couldn't have sent the report yesterday or earlier today?

Re: So now I'm freaking out

  • Thanks. Yeah I'm definitely going it call in the morning. Hopefully it's nothing. I know the doctors office wouldn't send results through email, the email came from the lab company. They automatically send me copies if all lab tests. So the doctor probably doesn't even know I have it.

  • I had similar results to that in pretty much all my third tri urine tests during my first pregnancy, but no symptoms. They ended up having to treat me constantly for a bladder infection, just to keep it from spreading to my kidneys and getting more serious, but I never had any discomfort and it never led to any complications, just a PITA being on so many antibiotics to keep it at bay :/. Hope you get some answers and peace of mind from the on call doc if/when you call.

  • I would call to ease your mind. I know my on call doc line does have access to my files (if by a computer) so it's worth a shot!

    Good luck and feel better!

  • No there isn't calcium in my d supplement. @scarfbandit the doctor that put me on the vitamin d had me taking 10,000ui because my levels were low. I'm going to have them recheck again too. I know vitamin d is great in general but every doctor recommends a different amount. I plan on taking fermented cod liver oil after the baby is born. It's supposed to be great for you. I didnt want to start it while pregnant because it also has vitamin a in it and since it's naturally occurring they can't measure exactly how much.
