Quickly tired at 17 weeks?

Did anyone feel tired after a couple errands or just generally feel like crap halfway through the day? I'm finding I feel exhausted, kind of sick-feeling and zero motivation the past few days in the afternoon. My appetite is suffering and also feel short of breath. Anything you did to combat it? Or am I just destined to feel this way for the rest of my pregnancy? I'm 17 weeks but am measuring over 20.

Re: Quickly tired at 17 weeks?

  • It's normal, I think. I'm 25 weeks, measuring 30. Around 15 weeks I started to have more energy than I did in my first tri but it never went completely back to normal prepregnancy energy. My shortness of breath comes and goes, depending on what I'm doing. My appetite also hasn't been especially great this whole pregnancy either but I do my best to eat. I'm not anemic, at least last time they checked, but anemia can also cause additional pregnancy fatigue. If they haven't checked your iron levels, that could be a cause.

    A & K, married 7/1/13.

After 10 months of ttc via medicated IUIs and two early losses, we finally got our boys- Perfect premie twins born 5/27/14.

I'm at exactly 17 weeks now and I'm not exhausted all the time like I was on first tri but I do tire more easily than pre-pregnancy. I do sit more at work now (used to stand 8-12 hours at a time but now take breaks from it every couple hours). I'm pretty wiped out by the end of the work day most days though. My appetite has definitely turned around, there are days I want all the foods. Not sure what my belly measures but at this week's ultrasound with the MFM the babies measured right at 17w so s couple days ahead at the time. Shortness of breath comes and goes, mostly when I'm doing something like trying to go from the basement to the second floor at home all at one time.
  • Normal. Very few pple get that second tri burst of energy that you hear about w multiples.

Everything about my multiple pg was amplified. I was exhuasted and most nights I got in bed soon after my oldest fell asleep around 830/900.

  • I'm exhausted after showering n drying hair. I'm tired after walking two flights of stairs. I am winded and heart beats really fast too. EKG shows all ok but it still feels very uncomfortable so I get it.
  • OMG YES! I was so hoping for the second trimester "honeymoon" phase. 17 weeks now, and still waiting for it! Though I have a feeling it won't get here, my OB told me I need to slow things down a little. You have to be careful you don't do too much. When I do too much I start cramping which isn't fun either. Guess we might as well get our rest now right?

Completely normal, felt that way starting at about 15 weeks.  For me it continued to get worse now at almost 29 weeks and I am measuring 39 weeks any movement can tire me out.  Sitting down most time I can not keep my eyes open.  If I do to much my ankles start to swell and I start to cramp.  I have a hard enough time trying to take care of my 2 boys now.
