Mother's Day

Any plans? Gift recommendations? My husband keeps asking and I'm not sure except for spa gift card. Gift suggestions for mom? Thinking of spending the morning bringing the kids to a park with lots if animals and maybe order in.

We are celebrating with my mom on Saturday. My sister and her family are coming up in the afternoon then the 3 of us are going to a jewelry bash with friends while the men stay and watch the kids.

Thinking we will do MIL's Friday evening as a Mothers Day/Birthday combo. I know she hates that and always complains about them being combined but I am a mom now and want to celebrate with just my family of 3 on Sunday.

As for Sunday plans I really have no idea. Looks like it is supposed to be a half decent day so maybe we will go to the zoo. They normally have a special that moms get in for free that day. Or maybe we will just go to the park and get ice cream which are 2 of DD's favorite things right now.

We may go out to eat with my parents on Sunday. Besides that I have no idea. I'm guessing nothing since I know dh hasn't gone out and gotten anything, and he hasn't asked what I want either. Maybe sushi at some point?

I went and bought a few clay pots and had DS paint them for my Mom and MIL. Later this week, we'll put some flowers in them. They turned out really cute!

We are going to my parents' house for lunch on Sunday. I ordered chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels for my mom and will get her another little gift too. DH asked me what I wanted and I told him a spa giftcard.

We are having brunch with my parents and my sister Sunday. I need to get a gift for my mom!

DH's mom (a.k.a. the greatest mother-in-law EVER) passed away in 2011. His dad is getting remarried this month to a woman whom we adore and who has been an awesome grandma to my kid. (She has been around since DD was born - came to the hospital at 11:00 PM and everything!) Anyway, the point of this is to say that we are not celebrating anything with them but that DH wants to get her a nice "welcome to being my new mommy" gift. He hasn't decided what yet and I'm keeping my nose out of his business.

I told DH not to get me anything. I said he can take DD somewhere in the afternoon to give me some quiet time, and I have a Stitch Fix box coming next week, so I'll buy some new clothes. We are boring.

On Saturday night my MIL, SIL (it's her first Mother's Day!), and BIL are coming over and my husband is making all of us Moms (and BIL) dinner.

On Sunday morning we are going to brunch with my parents and siblings. We will spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Not sure yet. My sisters and I are taking my mom to a pottery painting place sans kids as our gift to her but it won't be Sunday.

We are about to buy a house so all I want are decor items and flowers but we will have no money left haha so I don't think I'm getting anything. I do plan on doing a mini family shoot as my annual Mother's Day gift but I think this year I may just set up a tripod and do them myself.

For my MIL I have no idea!! Eek!

DH works this weekend, so we agreed to do "something" the following weekend. Not sure what yet. But he's still got another week to plan!

Our mom's each live about 3 hours away. I took some of DD's water color painting, cut them in half, and glued them to cardstock for a homemade mother's day cards to send to our moms. I'll probably include a few recent pictures of DD with the cards. We've never done anything big for our moms for mother's day. Sometimes we just send cards and sometimes we also send flowers. I just depends from year to year.

Mil is coming up Sunday. I am off work on Wed so I am dropping DS off at daycare and going to get my hair cut and pick out an outfit! I am beyond excited to have a day to mysefl and notfeel guilty for shopping.

So my weekend has changed, cocksackie ran thru their daycare this week so I will be comforting twins with it and sanitizing. One day it will get easier!
