I'm really debating planting our garden this year, it's smaller than the size of a crib. This leaves me curious as to what you have or will be planting in your garden?
Unless I want to build a greenhouse, I can't have a garden We have deer and they eat everything. The only slightly gardenish thing we have is cactus in the front yard that the previous owners planted. The deer leave those alone.
I'd love to be able to plant tomatoes and strawberries.
I guess location really impacts these answers. I haven't fully decided if I'm going to start the garden mainly because we have 7395 stray cats that can get to the garden.
I'm just interested to see what vegetables of choice you have or would put in your garden! Last year I had cucumbers, 2 different kinds of tomatoes and green beans. Not sure if I should switch it up if I decide to go at it this year.
I'm hoping to get some tomatoes, herbs, and bell peppers in the ground soon. We live in a highrise, but there is a small area where residents can have a 1' by 2' plot.
I'm in Texas. We have tomato's, squash, chives, cilantro, bell pepper and one single eggplant that DH picked up my mistake. We already have some baby squash and hope to have tomato's soon.
We have green peppers, cherry tomatoes, yellow squash, and eggplant. We also have a whiskey barrel up on our deck with chives, mint, and a few other herbs.
We're moving right during growing season, so I don't think we'll have much of a garden this year
Last year we did sungold tomatoes (my favorite!), a slicer, lemon cukes, snap leas, and two kinds of peppers. I at least one to get the sungolds in a container this year, as well as cilantro and basil.
Tomatoes, cucumbers, pineapple, and sweet potatoes. I have a deer problem as well so I have pots in the patio. Everything looks good so far. I have to hand pollinate the cucumbers, which is a pain, because the bees can't get to them. Not sure if the sweet potatoes will do anything but the plants look good.
I'm going to plant cherry and Roma tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, spinach, Bibb lettuce, and herbs (Basile, parsley, thyme) in a pot. H just built me a big garden (high five, H!) so I want to use my little bed from last year to plant wildflowers.
Tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, string beans, sweet potatoes, spinach, cucumbers, squash and zucchini. We also have a couple blueberry bushes and a raspberry bush.
I'm super jealous of you ladies. I really want a garden but I always put it off because every year I think this will be the year we move to our forever home. I guess I just don't want to put in the effort to make a garden at our current house and then go and move. That said, I have grown a few things in pots (cherry tomato, green bell peppers) both were a major fail. I'd love to have some raspberry bushes since they are nice and hardy and then make raspberry jam just like my grandmother used to!

I'm right there with you. We are gearing up to move and I am not willing to give up this year's garden if and when we leave. Container gardening is not as easy as Pinterest makes it out to be. Trust me, I know...I've tried everything from terra cotta pots to half barrels to hanging my tomatoes upside down. I finally did find a winner, though. Have you tried Earthboxes? They work really well if you're into container gardening. I have five of them but I'm only planting two this year. I do plan to take them with me when I go.
