Probably 5 times out of 10, I will work out then immediately have ice cream or a cookie or something. What is wrong with me? *Hangs head in shame*

Pretty sure I will do this in the near future. I have an unhealthy fear of dentists and all things dental.

  • I worry too much about how others perceive me as a mom IRL. I don't care about how they perceive me regarding anything else, but my parenting...that's the one thing....I'm on my son's ass if he misbehaves and I'm horrified at how he acts most of the time in front of other people. My family thinks I'm too hard on him, but this is my first rodeo, people! I've never raised a 2 1/2 yr old. I wish I didn't care, but I so do.

Deep down, I LOVE when DS just wants a PB&J sandwich for lunch....makes life so easy!  I'm sure it's terrible that he gets it at least 4 times a week. Those crustables are heaven sent.

I'm sitting here watching Sesame Street and DS is asleep.....

2 mo ago I said "I will NEVER have another child again...EVER"....well, here I am wanting #3 in three years.......DH said absolutely not. I plan on trying to change his mind from now until 2017.

S/O of @sugarland726's confession, I only do baths for the kids every 3 days or so unless they get super dirty or DD gets food all over herself or something.

  • I can't wait for my parents and brother to go on vacation so we can finally have the house to ourselves. I miss walking around in my underwear. And they're just really annoying and always like to critique what I'm doing with DS. I guess I'm just sick of them. I can't wait to move out.

I only bath DD every other day unless she has a big poop blowout or something and needs a bath sooner.

I think this is my first time posting on FFFC. (Is that a confession of it's own???)

I don't think I'm a very good mom. I'm not a patient person, high-strung and uptight, and pretty much an Eeyore. I wish I could learn to relax and enjoy the moment but I just don't know how. My daughter deserves better.

Yeah, my daughter's lucky if she gets a bath twice a week.

  • @katags would you have described yourself differently before baby? If yes, I really think you should check in with your Dr. PPD/A can linger for a while. My DH refers to DS's first 2 months as the time his wife stopped smiling.

Oh yes, I've always been this way. I actually put off having kids for a long time because I didn't think I could handle it, but I'd gotten a lot better in the last couple of years about not being as stressed all the time. Thanks for the response though. I've contemplated talking to a counselor or someone pretty much since middle school, but never have. Might be time :) I'm just having a bad day today because DD has a cold (again. her 3rd one in 4 months) and I'm beating myself up for it. (Because clearly I have control over stuff like this?)

I'm a pretty high strung person myself. Counseling helped me so much. I hope you feel better soon!

  • @katags‌ - you're not alone....
I just talked to my mom yesterday about this....anxiety/depression runs in my family and my mom was always stressed when I was growing up (single mother/only child family), so that's what I learned. I seriously think it's a learned behavior regarding stress management. I act EXACTLY how my mom did (aside from drinking) and I didn't really enjoy my childhood. I'm trying to break the cycle bc I want my kids to be happy and not be high strung like I am.
I'll commiserate with you, lady!  It makes me so upset that my patience is so thin lately. I wasn't 1/2 as bad before kids.

I gave DS a whore's bath last night instead of an actual bath.

My confession...I had to look up "whores bath" because I've never heard that term before lol
    Me too!

And FWIW, I only bathe my kids every other night (sometimes every third day). At LO's 4 month check up yesterday, doctor said to stop using soap on everywhere but her private areas because her skin is so rashy and dry. So I don't feel bad about not doing baths every night, at all.

yep, twice a week over here. whore's baths the rest of the week only because they spit up a lot and they'd stink otherwise

Thanks for sharing that @MiaMyPuggle‌ It does seem to run in my family too. While I obviously don't wish anyone else to struggle, it really helps to hear that I'm not the only one who has feelings like this.

I am also an anxious, uptight person. I feel the same way you do at times. I question if I'm a good mother all the time.

Here's mine and I'm sure I'll get flamed for it. I don't really like baby wearing. It hurts my back.

Here's mine. I don't miss sex. We've only had ST 3 times since LO was born. I am never in the mood and truth be told we had sex the most often when TTC, and I totally faked wanting to in order to get pregnant. DH doesn't request it much either when he's tired and has been working, which is all the time. I DO miss wanting to have sex. I am a terrible wife.

I too am a truly horrible wife. I hate the way I look and feel in my body so I'm not feeling ST at all. Added to that bit of neuroses, I got laid off on my fourth week of mat leave so my hubs is super-stressed. He has Chrons so he's basically been on a flare since February due to above-mentioned stressed. Yeah neither one of us is feeling sexy unpants at all.
