Pregnant after 35

weekly check-in (5/06)

Hi All,

gatewols has been so kind to run our weekly check-in the past couple of months, but I haven't seen her online in a while.  I hope everything is ok with her.

Since we've had so many introductions recently (yay!), I thought I would pick it up for the next couple of weeks while I'm still around and then hopefully either gatewols can resume it or someone else can pick it up.

So, here we go! :

1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

2) Age at delivery? (optional)

3) Any other children? Furbabies?

4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?

5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

QOTW:
Any Mother's Day traditions or celebrations that you follow currently or hope to implement once your little one arrives ?

    1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?   5/20.  38 weeks.

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)  41

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?   1 cranky old dog

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?   Feeling sleepy this week, but otherwise feeling ok.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?  I have my weekly appointment tomorrow.  I'm starting to feel anxious... I want baby to cook as long as he wants to, but I'm also concerned that he'll go past his due date.  My OB said that she doesn't want me to go beyond 41 weeks, but I really hope to avoid interventions.  So, I've been walking a lot and bouncing on the the ball and eating dates.  Who knows if any of this will help, but it makes me foolishly think I have some influence on the whole process. :)

    QOTW:
Any Mother's Day traditions or celebrations that you follow currently or hope to implement once your little one arrives ?    I lost my mom this year and both MILs are not in town, so it should be a quiet day, which I welcome.

  • 1) Due date? How many weeks are you? What size is baby?

    Nov 30 - 10w2d - Prune?

    2) Age at delivery? (optional)

I turn 39 about 7 weeks before delivery.

    3) Any other children? Furbabies?

A daughter who will be 7 in August

    4) How are you feeling? New symptoms this week?

I am hanging in pretty well!  Acupuncture has worked so wonderfully with the "green" feelings in the belly.   The uterus is feeling like a really heavy bean bag just sitting there already.  I didn't have that till much later last time.  I am still tired and would like a nap most days...  but don't get them too often.  ::sigh::

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?

May 20 is my NT ultrasound. (I will get the blood work done a few days before.)  Crossing my fingers for good results on both so I don't have to stress and pay for an NIPT.  (Not covered in Canada yet.... and expensive!  But fortunately, everything else is free for this pregnancy, labour and delivery.)

We usually go out for brunch on M's day.  Nothing too exciting.  But I don't mind.

I am really fatigued again, which is a bummer. I guess third trimester is knocking on the door.

    5) Any upcoming appointments, milestones, rants or raves?
We scheduled a maternity photo shoot with a friend's sister (she's really good and incredibly reasonably priced). It's been five years since we did our engagement/wedding photos, so I decided it would be nice to do. No bare belly shots for me, though. We're doing our shoot outside and we'll just get a few nice couple portraits.

Mother's Day isn't that big of a deal to me. I hope my DH gives me a card, but that's about it. I do look forward to handmade school projects when LO gets older.

    I am so sorry about your mom. I am sure that will make Mother's Day really bittersweet this year. {{hugs}}
