We don't find out if baby is a boy or girl until June, but DH is in a hurry to settle on a name for either ASAP. Our original plan was Cora for a girl and Mark for a boy, but DH told me today that he isn't sure about Mark anymore.
I'm stumped! We looked at some name websites and browsed through lots of options, but I haven't found a name that would really be a great fit yet.
DS is Henry, and we prefer traditional, classic names. This is my "list" of names that I came up with today, that I think are cool but that I'm just not sure about:
Cedric
Cornelius (nn Neil)
Elliot
Gabriel
George
Rodney
Roger
Rupert
Russell
Wyatt
Care to share your list? Just looking for more ideas! ;;)
ETA: Why is naming kids so hard? And not only do you have to choose a first name, but then you have to find a suitable match for a middle name?! Oy...
Re: Care to share your list?
Well we are using Bryan as it was DH's dad's name. But not sure if it is going to be the first or middle name.
Our moms were throwing out names the other night. I like traditional names as well but I am having trouble finding what flows well with Bryan (other than Luke
)
Here are some:
Greyson
Jameson
William
Elliot
So far nothing has seemed right. This little boy may not have a name until he is born!
Here are a few ideas:
Bryan George
Bryan Scott
Bryan Paul
Bryan Thomas
Daniel Bryan
Michael Bryan
Andrew Bryan
Walter Bryan
Good luck!
I like Andrew Bryan / Bryan Andrew but my hairdresser and husband of my first boss is named Bryan McAndrew so that one is too close to that.
DH makes fun of me because I want a name that no one else has but that is not super unique! I am really starting to think thT Bryan might be the first name because it flows better in the front.
I go by my middle name and have hated having to clarify my name all the time so I don't want to use the middle name over the first.
As a kid I never thought it would be this hard! But then again I have dozens of girl names that I love
Out of the list above I like Wyatt and Elliot the best. We are having a girl but these were on my list of boy names. Hamilton Cayden Phillip Joseph Thomas Kenneth Mitchell Nathan Grayson Oliver Jackson Troy David Lucas Ryker
Some others I like are Frank, Johnathan and Stanley.

I posted about the SSA popular names list on another thread, but when searching for names for DD I liked scrolling through the top 500 names to make sure I wasn't missing anything. I figure if it's not in the top 500 it's probably not a name I would use.
Our list for boys is one - Ethan Wayne. Wayne is the middle name for both DH and his dad, so though it wouldn't be a middle name I would pick, I kinda don't really have a choice on that one.
We are really struggling with a girls' name, but here is our small list:
Madelyn (the front runner)
Olivia
Ava
DH doesn't love the last two, but we both feel pretty good about Madelyn.
DD born Oct 2014 via C-Section (footling breech)
Baby #2 (AND #3...SURPRISE!) Due Nov 17, 2016. Found out it was twins at 18+5!
other boy names we like:
Callum
Nathaniel
Finn
We are both very picky about names so the list we agree on is very short
Levi Owen
Elizabeth Grace
Owen is DH's middle name and a family name
Gemma
Scarlett
Sloane
Harper
Kendall
Charlotte
Cora
Boys names are a huge challenge to agree on or both of us being in love with.
Harrison
Beau
Everett
Beckett
Holden
DD born Oct 2014 via C-Section (footling breech)
Baby #2 (AND #3...SURPRISE!) Due Nov 17, 2016. Found out it was twins at 18+5!
Boy:
Austin Michael
Carson Michael
Jayden Michael
Girl:
Olivia Kay
Blair Kay
We are having a harder time with girls names than anything!
My H is Brian Patrick. Sounds nice! OP, if we had a third boy, we liked Jackson (kinda popular now), Sebastian, Tyler, and my DS1 middle name is Charles for my dad. I love that name and think it helps every first name sound amazing and gives a little strength to it. gL! Maybe consider a family name?
