Evans

I remember about a month ago you talking about how K would let you know when she needed to poop. My K has started doing that and I have been thinking about trying to put her on the potty when she gives me her signals. Just wondering what you did... or if b/c you have been feeling so crappy you threw that all out the window.

Oh what I wouldn't give to have no more poopy diapers!

Also, did you ever get K a diff potty chair? We have the same cheap Bjorn one and my K is more intersted in carrying it around so I think we need something a little bigger that she can't pick up!

I hope you are feeling good today!!

  • My dd walks near me, squats, says poop, and goes... I think that means she knows what she is doing and could do it on the potty! I don't want to pressure her but I'd love to not clean up poop every day!
  • Sorry for the totally off-topic comment, but I just noticed that Kira is 1 year, 1 month, 1 week, and 1 day! Stick out tongue

I have no problem admitting that!!! Stick out tongue

Plus I think it's just so much easier to let her do her thing when she needs to.  Having to find a toilet in a public place with 10 seconds warning does not sound like fun to me!

OK, back to your original post, mamas! Smile

  • Brooks is still announcing "poop" to me, then finding a corner to do his business in. I totally think he's ready too, but I know friends whose DC has done the same so the parent gets them a potty chair and it freaks the kid out and then they won't even announce it anymore. I just don't know where to begin!

I'm thinking that we are going to try soon though. It would be wonderful to eliminate at least that set of diapers each day -- those are awful to clean up. Even if he doesn't get the peeing yet (which he doesn't), those are so much easier to clean. I would love to not do stinky diapers every day.

  • She was doing what your K is doing - announcing it to me and squatting and grunting and then going.

Whenever she would come to me and announce it, I would take her to her potty and let her go on it. ?I don't walk around asking her if she has to poop though - I let her come to me if she wants to. ?Some days she will do it all the time, other days she won't. ?I just let her take the lead at this point. ?I don't want to frustrate or traumatize her into not wanting to use the potty, if that makes sense, so I just follow her cues.?

I have not gotten a new potty yet, but need to. ?K is the same, she thinks it is more fun to carry around. ?I actually let her go on the big potty (just hold her on the seat) more often than in the little Bjorn one because as soon as I put her on Bjorn she wants to get off and carry it and kick it.?

Good luck! ?Even changing one less poopy every now and then is great :)?

  • You all are lucky, I wish Ashley was showing signals she was ready to start potty training. The only way I know she is going is she will stop talking/blabbering, her eyebrows will turn red and she will sort of grunt. But she is definitely not letting me know yet. Good luck to all of you!!
