Monitoring, switch from IUI to TI, shrinking/growing follies? (updated)

My u/s this week have me scratching my head, and also have me wondering why I don't have one more monitoring appointment this cycle:
Monday: Estradiol 131.0; Left 12.7mm, 12.0mm; Right 14.8mm, 12.7mm
Wednesday: Estradiol 196.2; Left 11.9mm, 11.9mm; Right 16.7mm
Thursday (CD19): Estradiol 278.2; Left 13.5mm, 14.1mm; Right 15.7mm?

We were prepping for IUI#4, but DH and I are going on vacation starting on Sunday, so we are going to do TI instead.
My RE left me a message indicating that I should trigger on Sat night, then BD on Sun and Mon.

I had a slow response during each of my Clomid cycles, with only one mature follie each time. So, I wasn't too surprised that it wasn't moving along quite as quickly as planned (though this has been a bit faster than Clomid).  However, I was very surprised that we aren't going to do another ultrasound before triggering, considering the weird changes in follie size. Plus, we have always done an u/s within a day of triggering.

Anyone have a similar experience?  Am I being silly if I call tomorrow to ask my RE if we can do an u/s on Sat?

11/2014: "Break" - Letrozole 5mg to cycle before prepping for IVF - successfully O'ed, but BFN
12/2014: Extending 'break' one more Letrozole-only TI cycle for mental health break - BFN
01/2015-02/2015: Prep for IVF - BCP then Gonal-F, Ganirelex, Novarel trigger;  ER scheduled 2/11!

    I've never done an us the day of my trigger and I've been on injections. My follicles grow slow so I'm sure my RE isn't worried that they are going to shoot up at the last min. My last us is usually the day before my trigger.

    Are you taking clomid or injections?

    I am on Letrozole this time around. My worry, since the one on the right seemed to go down in size, is whether or not I will have any mature follies at that time.

    I spoke with the nurse this morning, and she assured me that when the follies are "gaining momentum like this" that they can expect a steady 2mm growth per day, and that Sat should be fine.  She let me know that they would bring me in if there were any doubt, but that they would give me the same plan even if they brought me in on Sat.

    I'm wondering if this means that all 3 follies might mature in time?

    FX that at least one does!!

    I would think you have a good chance in all 3 being mature, you still have a couple of days before trigger and the trigger will push then even farther to mature. Good luck!!

    IUI #3.1 May - CD3 U/S 5-6, Follistim start 5-11 thru 5-17, u/s 5-18 3 mature w/ a close 4th, IUI 5-20 - BFP!
                 Beta #1 12dpo - 164 & progesterone - 89!, Beta #2 16 dpo - 1189, 5w3d - u/s shows TWINS!
                 6/19- u/s showed heartbeats! Baby A 111 & Baby B 118, both measuring 6w1d
                 7/3- Baby A hb 170, Baby B hb 166 - both measuring perfect.
                 7/18 - Baby A 165, Baby B 171 - both measuring right on track & moving all around!

    Me (35) no known issues DH (37) MFI. TTC 21 months (24 cycles)
    Dx MFI with low to normal count, low motility, morphology 3%
    HSG normal, ultrasound and labs on me all normal. 

    1 cycle of Clomid 50mg and TI, unmonitored by OBGYN= BFN
    1 cycle of Clomid 50mg and IUI, unmonitored by OBGYN= BFN
    Started seeing an RE!!
    2 more cycles of clomid 50mg (great response), with IUI and Pregnyl trigger (4.8-8 mil good ones after wash) = all BFN
    1 cycle of clomid 50mg (3-7) followed by Follistim 75iu (7-11) + IUI = BFN
    December 2013 DH saw urologist and is taking Anastrozole, CoQ10, and L-Carnitine
    IUI #5 natural cycle (needed a med break) = BFN
    IUI #6 Follistim 75iu (CD3-10) + Pregnyl (CD11) + IUI (final count after wash 300K) = BFN
    IUI #7 Follistim 75iu (CD3-9) + Pregnyl (CD11) + IUI on 2/20 (post wash count 12.5 million)= BFN
    IUI cancelled (DH OOT) Clomid 50mg (CD3-7) 1 follicle +(not well timed) TI = BFN
    IUI #8 and last one!! Clomid 100mg (CD3-7) +OPK before US + IUI 4/17 (post wash 8.5 mil)= BFN

    Pre-IVF testing complete! SHG great and measurements taken! Labs for infectious diseases completed, FSH (5.4), TSH (1.6), Prolactin (11), AMH (2.6), Estradiol (40).

    Started BCP 5/29 and Lupron 6/11 prep for IVF #1! Started follistim 225u/day on 6/28. Monitoring on 7/2 >15 follicles measuring 11-14, E2 758. Monitoring on 7/5 all ready to go!! Great follicle sizes and lining is at 9. Tigger 7/5, ER 7/7 16R 9M 3F. Stimmed too fast in just 7 days. 7/10 3dt of 2 8-cell grade 2 & 4. 7/14 P4 >60.
    Holy crap BFP!!!
    Beta #1 (14dpo) 7/21 112 Beta #2 (16dpo) 7/23 286 a Beta #3 (18dpo) 7/25 761 Beta #4 (21dpo) 2631!!! Hold on tight little embies!!      First Ultrasound 8/7- 1 perfect little bean with a beating heart 117bpm!! EDD 3/30.
    Second ultrasound 9/2 Little bean measuring a few days ahead with a heart rate of 161!

    Positive OPK this morning! That seems reassuring.

    Question: We BD'ed last night, but are not supposed to BD again until tomorrow (I trigger tonight, and he has mild motility issues ). Are we good to wait until tomorrow, with that positive OPK today?

    I'm kicking myself for not testing last night, but I was not expecting to see that second line (Wondfo) this morning!

    We always do TI too and my RE told me to have sex 12 and 36 hrs after trigger. The positive today just means you are going to ovulate in the next day or two. The trigger tonight will insure you ovulate in 36 hours. I think you are good waiting until tomorrow. Good luck!

    12 hours after trigger would be a bit tricky; as we will be on an airplane. Lol. It will have to be either 6 hours or 18 hours after trigger.

    If it were me if wait for the 18hrs vs the 6. Then again it's just all a crap shoot.

    Yeah I was giggling about that thought, and what I would say if we got caught. Lol.

    I do think that we'll wait until 18 hours, since we at least BD'ed last night.
