39 weeks + 2 days

So I toss and turn probably close to 1,000 times a night. About 30 minutes ago I switched from laying on my right side to my left side and experienced the most painful feeling I've truly probably ever had. It was real low in my abdominal area/pelvis and it lasted for about 30 seconds then finally eased up. It actually took my breath away to where I was laying here panting. Just the one though, and haven't felt anything at all since. What in te world? Is this a crazy random contraction or what?

  • Maybe, it could be. Or maybe you pulled a muscle? I've been finding that changing sides doesn't feel good at all lately and it does aggravate the RLP sometimes.

  • I have no clue what it was. It happened about 45 minutes ago and and I haven't felt it since, but it hurt bad enough I'm scared to go back to sleep haha
  • Sounds like round ligament pain.. About a week and a half ago mine came back with a vengeance. Get it only when I'm flipping side to side at night down low. I thinks it's cause our babies are so low now and their heads and shoulders are stretching those muscles down low. Hope you feel better! We are almost finished!
  • I agree on it probably being round ligament pain. I've had it for a while now and it's definitely worse when trying to switch sides in bed. I have to support my belly and move really slowly and even then it can still really hurt. Yay for feeling like a beached whale :|

  • I find sometimes if I change position during a BH, it kills! Like pulls the muscles. Maybe it was something like that? I am with you though where I'm questioning every new feeling and hoping it's labor.

I gave up sleeping in bed for this reason. Sleeping reclined on the couch has mostly fixed this for me. Not awesome, but I keep telling myself it's only a few more days.

    This. Exactly.

I am queen of the couch.
  • Likely RLP - it happens to me too.
